For anyone who cares, there's a downgrade method for 2DS 3DS (normal and XL) and N3DS going up. This will let you downgrade your current 3DS Firmware (up to 10.3) to 9.2, which will let you install a CFW that in return will let you install .cia which could be 3DS games.

I won't go into too much detail here, especially since i'm not the one who found it but feel free to as questions here or in PM and i'll do my best to help.

Please note that the N3DS method is a little unstable (I have never seen hard brick) but you might need to format your SD and console before starting (but if you have homebrew yo ucan save your games)

Brick wise, worse you can get it seems is a softbrick now, people who hardbrick are those who

1) Use wrong sysupdater
2) Use wrong update files
3) Can't follow a guide

So.... I've had an old 3DS XL for about two years and rarely touched it; mostly used it with my DSTwo Flashcart to play all the DS games I had. And Bravely Default.

I took the plunge and downgraded it to 9.2 with zero issues. Created an emuNAND and installed rxTools.

What games do you recommend to play? These are the ones that I've installed so far.

Final Fantasy Explorers is due to release on the 26th of January. Seems like its going to be a pretty fun 4-player experience similar to Monster Hunter type games.

The Etrian Odyssey series and SMT4 are fantastic if you're into dungeon exploring JRPGs.

I haven't touched my 3DS in nearly 3 years (last thing I played was SMT IV), and it's on 8.1. All this shit I'm reading starts with downgrading to 9.2. Do I need to follow that or can I just go on to rest of it?
