If that's a legitimate log from an agent, it looks like it was for mass pulling over an extended period of time. I have no idea why that would be deemed banworthy though.
That makes this impossible
If its an automated fucking system that detects people running faster than they're supposed to be at any given time, then people wouldnt be magically slipping through the cracks. The automated system is part of the STF's routine roundup
This is probably why
I'd say it's a two-prong of the mass pulling and NPCing sparks gear. To them, the trial accounts quite likely resembled RMT.
Conditionally, I can agree that mass pulling might seem disruptive to other players. On the other hand, if there are no other players around to actually disrupt, it seems silly to slap someone for something that could essentially fix itself within a short respawn cycle and a little communication between players.
If something unspoken is at play, well, that's on him. I'd probably encourage the chargeback just because the whole "right after billing cycle" thing is pretty shitty. I guess just be careful you aren't using the same card for everything, as the main could probably get banned because of it, too.
I dont think its NPCing Sparks. a LOT of people do that, its what most people do with their Sparks when they cap out, who here doesnt NPC stuff from sparks for that 500k? Then again, no one here probably does it 2-3 times a day over 6 characters.
You probably got reported by the same angry player for multiple days. During vanquish vermin yahse can get quite popular.
This is basically one of the catch alls. Something similar to what they handed some abyssea cleavers I knew (though some probably were rmts) whether or not they were monopolizing and what some nm holders got back in the day. Or possibly just shouting a lot. SE has written enough wiggle room in their user agreement that everyone is potentially violating them without even having to resort to the we can ban for whatever clause. Good luck getting your money back
SE has always been able to ban you for whatever they want.
still to this day confused why anyone thinks SE is even a remotely respectable company. bans like that should not surprise anyone at this point
Sure they could, since the auto jailer is turned off. All SE would have to do is randomly pick X number to manually review or ban, to send a message and also limit the # of customers they lose.
It's clear that for a long period they were ignoring all kinds of cheating, so enforcement of rules does vary
Why? They are ending content and shutting down consoles altogether. They clearly don't care about losing subs in this game, although it's really short sighted and foolish to alienate customers who might've at least bought other products. But that's SE, they are a joke company
Think of it from the perspective of a true newbie: Will they know to do this? Will they have access to the means to do it at length? Moreover, they're admitted to just standing there and reaping the benefits.
Don't want to be confused for RMT? Don't behave like them. I know that's a stick in the mud for those who are all like, "free market!" or "my sub, my rules!" but there is a point where playing abnormally doesn't even require using a third-party tool. So, the question becomes, do they fix the abnormal behavior or just kick the offenders to the curb? I'm not entirely sure they can fix this short of forcing people to be on enmity lists to get RoE credit for combat things, and that'd be hella easy to bot in its own way.
Wow that is ridiculous for a ban
This has been going on since mid January, I'm pretty sure any intent of message sending was to be sent then. Since then, how many people have been banned after making a new account or "just coming back"? There was one just a couple days ago...
I dont think SE sees this as a problem. Last patch they added new NPCable items that dethroned the fuck out of Bahadurs that you could get with sparks. Bahadurs were 1675, and the newly added Acheron Shields are 2755. You're talking going from 29 Bahadur's needed to clear out to needing 18 Acheron Shields. I dont think anyone in any community, JP EU or NA, was really upset about the lack of Acheron Shields out on the open market, so I think SE added those in for the sake of a higher ticket item to NPC.
This thread... yeah square is going apeshit with the hammer, and liberal with their application of law... other than this shit being funny at times, who cares. Just play the way you want till you get popped and move on. You dont get to carry your data to the next game anyway. Yes square is a shit company with one of the worst customer services on the planet. These are things we all already know.
How would that factor in overlapping parts of maps, such as Garlaige/Sacrarium/Den of Rancor/Uleguerand's caves that have walkable sections on multiple levels?
I know the client just interprets the Y-axis as you see it a lot with pets that dip down into Garlaige's holes then magically appear back up (or if you lag and the game just interprets the last received packet w/ current one), but I don't know how it's compensate to prevent rendering folks on the wrong level of the zone when they're within player rendering distance of yourself.
If you're standing somewhere and start clippering upwards, you look like you haven't moved until you reach the next viable location (like the floor above you). So you would appear to warp between the two points, but SE would see you slowly moving upwards.
So they say the game isn't profitable due to low subscriber numbers and then start banning lots of people, no warnings and no communication on it just banned outright.
It's almost like they think they will go and play ffxiv if they get banned!
It's important to keep in mind that these same GM teams work on both ffxi and ffxiv and that RMT shouts, botting and many other things are rampant on 14. So this is not about catching cheaters at all.
The game's population has been on the decline either way. A big difference between XI and XIV there though, is that XIV has long-term prospects for cutting hacking/RMT out by design, due to continued development. After November, if some Salvage-level hack/exploit comes to light in XI, they'll (presumably) be unable to fix it. They'll need to rely on whatever tools they've got, and player fear of getting banned.
Could be they want to remove players ahead of time that they might see as more likely to hack the shit out of the game come next year.
