I'm so glad this thread started delivering again. I just started playing again after about 20 months but I've been following the forums to stay relatively up to date knowing I would be coming back eventually and this thread had started to disappoint recently. Thanks everyone for the entertainment at work!

PS Any advice other than get sparks gear to get something at least decent? I'm working the Wings expansion right now and I'll probably knock out the other stories I never finished after that but as far as longer term goals for a knowledgeable player with reasonable skill and gear that was pretty good (but not perfect) at the beginning of Delve?

Sparks gear, or you can reforge your AF/relic if you have gil to burn, some of that stuff is still BIS (if you 119 it). But start off with Sparks for now.

Yeah I'm not much of a poster so I figured I'd sneak in the question in a thread that was active. And thanks for the direction, I snagged the sparks gear right off but I didn't realize reforged 119 pieces would be BiS, that's a good tip and a starting point for my research.

I'd be amazed if they started enforcing that 25. The security guards who work here have outright said they have no interest in enforcing the speed limit. Hence 25 is 40.

Except that law of the road says the 25 is 25 and the 75 is 75.
And what happens if that 25 one day gets enforced and you get ticketed for driving 40? Are you really going to contest it and say "this is bullshit, you're inconsistent, you should have a cop there every day if you want us to drive 25".

The only reason you can get away with doing 80 in a 75 is because it would be easy to contest, the margin of error of 80 to 75 is pretty tight.

I wish we had 75mph roads by me. NY caps at like 55. :/

The single place you're going to get the most gear from would be Yorica V2(aka Alluvion Skirmish). Like with everything in FFXI, all gear is situational, reforged AF/Relic/Empy have some very nice pieces, but overall I'd say that to me Taeon/Acro/Helios has the most uses, but then I guess it also depends on what job you're gearing.

Thing with Yorica V2 is it's still pretty active, so joining shouts shouldn't be a problem since so many people still spam it to farm stones, so try to jump in any time you can, and you can hold multiple of the same armor pieces from there, and A LOT of them augmented are BiS for a lot of scenarios.

You're asking for trouble if you go above 25 in a school zone. They take that stuff kind of seriously around here. We even stop for school buses on the highway. And this is Texas, quite a few roads in this part are 75 mph (and a good number of people go much faster). At any rate derail over. ._.

Nope, JP's are immune from mass STF bannings and mostly immune from GM related bannings, they at least get the benefit of the doubt.

I've said multiple times that if you really want to protect your account, get a VPN connection to somewhere in Japan and play through that. Seems extreme but it works like fucking magic.

I sincerely doubt this. SE doing that would cause a shitstorm like no other in history. Unless the people who handle JP bans are different from EN bans, I see no way this is possible.
