Very sad to hear they've done away with temp bans for first offense. Makes me wish I'd used mine on something good like salvage duping. >.> I wonder why they changed policies so totally?

The message has been 100% unambiguous for at least 20 pages: if you use Clipper, you are going to be banned. Period. No ifs ands or buts.

This is something I have made abundantly clear to everyone I do any events with because A) they're my friends and B) SE absolutely bans for association (clippering in skirmish or some shit).

Like honestly, I am sorry for you and your friends. It sucks. But anyone within a degree of separation from the major posters left in the FFXI forum has absolutely no fucking excuse.

Hopefully this clears up any doubt anyone may have left. If you want to finish the game, get that shit off, or at least get rid of it til November. Or longer, just because we get the last new content in November doesn't mean there won't still be shit to do.

It was not like we did not warn people about the bans, and he knew he was risking it but he was trying to hurry to something we were doing cause it was getting late and he made a bad choice, and it came back to bite him. It really sucks and I am going to miss him very much. We have told many people around us not to risk it but we can not hold their hands and watch their screens to make sure they behave. It is way too risky for anyone to use these programs and if you do then you know what will happen.

I am totally sad about this, and wish I knew he was thinking about doing it cause I would have talked to him out of it but what is done is done. We can only learn from past mistakes.

And yes people DO NOT risk it by thinking that your acct is clean so getting caught once you will get off easily. SE seems to have changed it and giving out perm bans without warning even if you have a clean acct, so unless you want to quit the game that way do away with any bots, clipper, all that stuff or you will pay for it badly. This is not the first person I heard about with a clean acct getting banned (no temp bans in past). It is happening more and more lately.

It is not that people do not care it is the fact that people with clean accounts (never been temp ban before) thought the worst they would get is a temp first time getting caught but they are wrong. He truly did not want his acct to get perm banned but was thinking he would be ok since never been in trouble before, which is worst thing to think it seems. SE does not care if you never been in trouble before and they are handing out perm bans first offense now it seems.

The person Sechs is talking about, our good friend, is actually pretty upset at himself, which is understandable, but he is upset too that he did not get a temp ban first offense. He was wrong in what he did, he knows it, and he regrets it but it is too late now to go back and change it.

We just want to get the word out that if you think your acct is ok cause no previous temp bans you are wrong, and should rethink in what tools you are going to use or are using. Do not expect to get let off with a temp if you get caught. SE is totally not playing around with people using these type of tools. (clipping, botting, w/e)

Idk. The first batch of rhapsodies missions were pretty crappy in both gameplay+story, and I'm not banking on anything better in the rest. I'm sure they'll ramp up the difficulty a little bit, but not enough that a competent player won't be able to one-shot them blind solo+trusts.

What else is really coming? More escha that the vast majority of even the currently 'active' playerbase will never touch? The last round of skirmish, so we can grind out more fodder mobs for random augments with no content left to actually use them for? Job point grinding? Tarutaru sauce quests?

Most people I see still playing (myself included) aren't doing much besides checking mog garden, and occasionally dicking around with a hard mode battle, legacy content, etc. If I randomly get banned for using ashita(cast), ja0wait, or whatever between now and november, nothing of value will really be lost. Worst case I'll just watch the missions on youtube if anything interesting happens with the story.

Are we sure they still do that ? The whole 5 people I used to play with when the mass banning started got perma for clipper, I didn't(I wasn't using it), Not like I would advice anyone to try anyway xD

Well yeah, but I mean the entire SoA mission line can be soloed trustless without major difficulty by solo oriented jobs, and those BCs started against significantly higher level enemies than rhapsodies did. I will be surprised if the remaining rhapsodies missions contain anything a no swap sparks gear player on any job + trusts can't easily handle.

Maybe thats the difference: frequently doing stuff with said person vs doing something with them one time in a PUG.

I will be surprised if the remaining rhapsodies missions contain anything a no swap sparks gear player on any job + trusts can't easily handle.

Well I meant more like how things start really easy then tend to get harder lvl capped Cop stuff aside... I think they might actually make the finale hard just to try to force a little longevity... maybe even make some new endgame that requires you to have finished it lol

I'd be unsurprised if there was a last battle shinryu style that requires completing all of rhapsodies to enter. I very much doubt any of the mission battles will be considered hard to anyone that cares about such things. Especially when they seem to yawn at SoA mission battles. So yeah, expect 0 challenges outside of some BS NM in the next Escha zone(s).

Not exactly, I came back within the last 6 months for about a month and still used clipper 100% of the time for just speed and ja0wait

I also had a reive bot going for that entire month with no problems but the only thing I did not do was over 2x speed or pos jumping

if they cared about longevity they wouldn't be banning left and right for the slightest, most harmless offenses or guilt by association. Too few subs left and especially after new content ceases and consoles are gone for them to make an honest effort. More than anything, they'd have to add gear that's worthwhile and hard to obtain, and when's the last time they did that?

More likely, some dev decided "jp onry and fuck these cheaters" and the company decided to not stand in their way of mass bans any longer because they know subs will dwindle by xmas regardless.
