At this point, I dont think most people will start over. Maybe in 2009, but not now.

i am so confused why so many people are placing so much stock in the random kid from ffxi claiming his mule got banned on top of vomp hill.
please consider this: he was probably just trying to start shit or it was a false positive.
i hate being on SEs side on this shit but very few people have gotten banned in this most recent ban wave for 3rd party programs that haven't deserved it. SE does bans at 1 am EST every night, if you were caught doing something that is when you would be banned, at 1 am EST, not right when it happens. i have no idea what the turn around on this kind of thing is but i have known accounts were going to get banned before and sometimes it takes 2 days, sometimes it takes 2 weeks.
tl;dr: SE is being gung-ho. stop using shit until they are done being gung-ho. they consistently do this but botting hasn't been as rampant in the game as it is lately so it hasn't been as noticable as it is now. last time they did something on this scale was probably 2-3 years ago
source on all of this is I've probably had over 100 accounts banned that were at the level cap
read complete sentences, i said very few people have been banned that didn't deserve it. my source for this is that there would be a much larger uproar
and yes i have been banned over 100 times
idk if you're trolling or what and i don't really wanna keep repeating myself. yes i have been banned over 100 times on different characters all at the level cap
inb4 it turns out Anjisnu was just trying to raise the price on H-P bayld through fear mongering
I'm from Shiva, I can confirm Daakpunk at least has had access to 100 accounts banned, he was one of the top members in our most notorious and openly botting/hacking LS back in the day. The fact that he's still around posting on BG after that time means he likely didn't quit after them and just kept on coming back for more. Which is...really sad, but lends some more validity to his claim.
It honestly wasn't my intention to defend SE, just to dispel the rumors that SE is going around banning innocent people without any sort of confirmation/investigation that had legitimate players worried. There were clearly some people here and on FFXIAH that were afraid to do certain things after the initial reports, which I believe, with what we know now, doesn't hold true anymore.
Also wasn't my intention, I actually believe your story. I just think it's a case of someone who wasn't in charge of anything reading incorrect information off their screen that the person in charge of bans didn't bother to update/change. There's no doubt in my mind they didn't review your account twice and uphold the ban twice, though.
Not like SE has not banned innocent people in mass for using mules to garden.
Nah, SE would never ban bunches of innocent people and not care about the collateral damage because that would involve caring which they surely do enough. Right..?
Is it the norm? Doubtful. Are in game GMs and stf members human and able to error or just get sticks up their butts? Damn right. See the whole one person not reading things makes sense which is part of why I pushed it and had those people go back and talk to their superiors and to go back and look to make sure there wasn't some mistake (well obviously there was some kind of mistake) and there ended up being basically a sentiment of stf doesn't make mistakes... ever. Or at least will never admit to them

he's lieing too
Quick read of all that craziness makes it sound like the mule was innocent but his main exploits and bots like there is no tomorrow
Where does it say his mule was fleehacking and poshacking around?
All I saw is windower use, and using a /lastsynth script, which is not detectable by logs.
