I don't know anyone who was CP botting who got a permaban (probably because no previous infractions). I did hear about people pos hacking in salvage who got perma this time with no previous infractions though.

CP botting should not be an insta-ban unless you had a previous infraction. I have known a few people who were just kicked for 3-4 days because they were using apps to get CP, but otherwise had a clean record. additionally, the ~half a million gil you bring into the market for capping sparks is a highly inefficient way of making gil. to do it remotely efficiently you need an actual human being at the helm.

As long as you aren't doing silly things like just leaving the bot running in the same spot for days on end and you go back to town when about capped it's not that horrible. Better than ever got fishing anyways plus not counting the npcables and the fringe benefits.

Ain't no body got time for that one. Need a total of like 416.6 inventory slots for that. In the amount of time it would take you to move gear over to have space in main inventory, you can just go farm another 50k sparks.

While I do admit it takes some time... I can't imagine it takes you that long unless you can farm and convert 50k sparks in like 20 minutes. In which case you don't have gil problems to begin with. I mostly just do it on mules though since they got the extra invent and can put most of their gear in wardrobe. Actually I've moved my main to keeping most of the commonly used non storeable stuff in wardrobe so I can clear my invent easier... plus more space for meds/drops

Yeah I never do it on my main just mules with a lot of invent space. And usually just do it when I dump sparks since same area so it's only a little bit at a time. And even then usually just when I don't have any plans for UNM...

Well there goes a suspension for one of my mules for "botting/exploiting"... note it never cp botted per se though it did hang around doing nothing in xp range while my main killed stuff. And did nuke some lair reives again with my main. Never for more than 6 hours without a break. Always actually used the merits/sparks when they got full. Never fully afk as such I know there were no messages sent (and really if I hadn't responded to one they would've jailed me right then). The main difference I see between this and my main is I kept more gil on it... kind of like how the other mule that got banned kept more gil on it and other expensive stuff...

On my server over the last weeks around at least 100 less characters logged in at all times.
Most of the botters in Marjami/Foret have disappeared, for the moment, and as I mentioned when I do /sea all I see around 100 characters less than I did before this banhammering thing started.
Guess the majority of that is just RMT though, rather than "real" players.

Got a couple of friends who received permaban though. One of which had just completed Daurdabla99 so I'm pretty mad at that, turns me into permabard once again >.>

I don't go to the popular areas anymore so only botters I still keep tabs on are the ones in inner court... all 2 of them and they were on a reive today. But it's kind of clear they aren't proving anything. Oh you farm a lot but in reasonable time frames? random ban hammer. And really if anything my main is more suspicious since it occasionally farms cps while the others leech. And man that was my whm too
