I'm mainly just advocating responsibility on both sides. SE may be cutting corners and not doing things as well as they could be, but it also doesn't mean they should just give up and let the exploiters win. That's a sentiment I suspect a fair number of people are feeling about the game at the moment with all the reive/JP/fish botting, lax salvage bans, etc. breeding the whole, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" mentality.

I think it is all just based on reports and not some automated system or investigative detail devoted to this. They don't seem to be catching anyone who isn't currently botting or attached to it some way. Yes, you may not have been running a bot on that character, but if someone ran by and noticed that one character was benefiting from it then they tagged that one on the report. They haven't taken action on flee hacking or pos warping so far it seems.

His logic is that of a sore posterieur. Look at his posts before and after he got banned: they go from "if you got banned, you probably deserve it cause of what you were doing" to "this is an injustice, theyre blindly banning people, even though i openly admit to botting rampantly and rmting so much this game is actually a source of income" when he gets the ban message.

Plain and simple.

i highly doubt i am even on SEs list as far as the STF goes so please don't flatter me, i doubt they even know about me. very few people on this board will know what i'm talking about but due to exploits i have maybe sold .01% of the total gil that has been sold in the last year.

and even if these exploits had not occurred i'm still peanuts compared to most of the RMT out there

Some people got banned during Salvo Banhammer1 without doing anything just because they were in groups using that shit. On Sandworm too etc.
Don't remember any other times where people claimed to have been banned for doing anything wrong other than associating with people who did.

I remember hearing a lot about that and cleaves only and that might be where mine is from but they wont say so hard to say. Only heard a little about NNI but not a lot. That might have been a little different though since with salvage all they knew was there was an exploit so hit everyone assuming they all new. With the flee hacking it's clear that is the person doing it. Paying for cleaves idk maybe they thought you were helping launder or something

I was on break for most of NNI. I was told by my ls when I got back that SE would ban me if I was found in a group in NNI where one of the members was flee hacking which is why I thought some people must have been banned that way.

I think the majority of players on my server in those days paid for RMT abyssea cleaves (since they were break even or profit with cruor anyways), and I've never heard of anyone being banned for it. Besides the cleavers themselves of coarse, they had new accounts like every month.

there was an official post by the dev represantitves back then stating that you should not join such partys as you could get banned via "guilty by association" if it involved any form of tradeing gil to the ones battleing the mobs or they were involved in RMT.

I remember this as well. We should just take it for granite that SE doesn't always follow shit cut and dry when it comes to bannings. It was just more obvious now more then ever with the whole recent Salvage actions and lack of bans for something which was obviously a major exploit.

It totally was.
If there were other ways to reach the same result I dunno, but the original multiplication trick in instanced zones was totally fixed.

Three brand new accounts banned last night. All of them were doing the same things. Nobody was in that zone, no tells, no prior offenses, etc. Two of which got LM-31 whilst the third account has a LM-11.

I mean, yeah of course they all were breaking TOS in some way. However, and I don't think this matters really, but one was in town at the time.
