I think we have vastly different ideas what of what great amounts of gil are lol. I personally know someone that introduced more gil a month for several months from blinkers (and that was actually legitly farming the cruor) than the best Hak fishing could do in almost 2 years time. Fairly things like gardening back in the hayday did more. Just this was a bit more widely known because you could go up and see a bunch of people fishing who were obviously doing that.. though since bait was limited that didn't increase fishing as much as it normally would

Your example's pretty terrible. It's much closer to receiving/reselling stolen goods: it doesn't matter if you stole them or not. To a degree, it doesn't even matter if you knew they were stolen or not: you're still guilty of selling stolen goods. And yeah, you ARE the recipient of stolen goods. Everyone on these forums are, and I know of literally no one in the game who isn't, and I hobnob with a LOT of newbies who know exceptionally little about anything involving the mechanics of this game.

So what? If everyone has knowingly or unknowingly received these "stolen" goods then what does it matter? This seems pretty pointless to even say. Are we supposed to feel bad or something? Does SE need to baptize us to be born again?

There are always going to be people who try to get a leg up. Who take their ambitions and achieve them by any means necessary. This is a video game and human nature coming out is fine and should be expected.

No one is a saint, and this is a game where you don't have to waste time doing menial tasks to have fun.

Did I approve when Haks, wildgrass seed, etc were nerfed in price? Yes, absolutely, but when it comes to engaging in fish botting for personal use even with the bit of NPCing (focus is on not doing this to NPC hence why I say the following) it does not matter at all.
Especially when sparks are putting a mass ammount of gil into the system. Someone could fishbot all day and not even touch that.

Pretty sure if I go and do salvage and then keep the alex and log off then I have not affected anyone at all. Even when I finish another mythic or something the effect is really not anything of importance to anyone except myself or perhaps the one or two people involved in the process.

It is pretty obvious that when you craft food and sell it or make a run for an event that you affect people. So what? Why even say so much of nothing?

We use all sort of outlandish stuff such as "I was hoping you could you help me out. My wife is really mad at me that I booked this nonrefundable ticket on the wrong date. We have been fighting a lot and I am afraid she is going to take the kids and leave after messing this one up. Could you help save my marriage?".
I called to double my credit limit and said "Perhaps you could help me out. When I whip out this card the ladies are not impressed with the size of my credit limit. They start wondering if I have anything else that is not of an impressive size. Could you help me out?". Unfortunately the guy was as fun as syphilis, and then didn't help me out. Pretty much what happened to me when I lost my 3 accounts in September. Was hardly playing for about 3 weeks, then tried to log on and was banned. Contacted them and the conversation went pretty much how it did with you, except they were adamant about the e-mail explaining exactly what happened. Which as everyone knows, it doesn't.

SE has the WORST customer support ever, I used to laugh at those chats and how rude they were. They would constantly do anything to hang up on the chat even if you ask for manager. I called one of them one time and he was being a dick, he sounded young, so I asked to talk to a manager and he refused over and over. Hes like I just talked to my manager and he said the same thing, he can't help. Then I'm like ok I wanna talk to someone else there besides you, and hes like ok hang up and call back and you'll get a new agent. I said okay, how many people are there ? He said there are two of us here. I was like wow great 50 chance of getting you again, and he said yes.

People have threatened me with reports for years, mostly for stupid shit that's nothing more than game mechanics.

The only visit I've gotten from a GM since 2004 was when I got accidentally warped to the Gaol along with like thirty fishbots (being the only actual human there apparently that actually was fishing-fishing), poked for a GM, was back out five minutes later. If you never give in to the temptation to mess with the game this way, you don't get in trouble. By comparison, I've had three bans in WoW for simply being in a guild they busted a bunch of people for goldselling- guilt by association.

Had one guy harass me for half an hour about how I must be hacking when I was using like 20 or so crabs up in tree to skillup shield on my rdm back at 75. Was hilarious. It was like do you not know how phalanx and pdt and def work?

Its pretty fun to speed hack and crap like that. I used to love that shit back in 07. I stopped though because I knew people get banned for that crap. I seriously hope nobody here feels the need to voice their opinion on whether or not its right or wrong to do it though when its clearly wrong. Any sort of cheating on an online game can be pretty detrimental to the population.

Just imagine a scenario where tons of people are clearing content with minimal effort and using tools to assist themselves through it and people are keeping quiet about it all. If the content is incredibly difficult for groups of people to do it legitimately and people are getting tons of gear out of it, does this not hurt the game? You have to look at it from a dev's point of view. If you see lots of people clearing content and there are shit loads of people saying that its too hard then it sort of fucks them over. I think this was a problem with Nyzul 2.0 but I could be wrong.

Anyways, if you're hacking and being a retard I will call a GM. I love trying to get people banned because its funny to me. Getting your shit ganked in Abyssea by some speed hacking cunt really rubs my taint raw. If you wan't to be a bitch then you're going to get reported like one. When you help somebody get geared up and they're speed hacking around and getting themselves banned is pretty shitty too. Just fuck you in general if you're stupid enough to do that stuff and expect help from people.

Since we're throwing around stupid examples and being all extreme. What if you helped a friend with his rent or something and he turned around and murdered some guy and got sent to prison. You're out whatever money you lended to him and you don't get to see your friend again. Good times.(murder and children's video game cheating is totally cool gaiz.)
