Going to fix "things" but not the "right" things. All the things that make them bad, will still make them bad. They'll just have slightly higher acc/att

They're increasing magic accuracy, defense, evasion, and magic evasion, too. The defense buff could be a big help, but I'm expecting it to be too low to matter too much, like +10% or something.
maybe sorta
The eva/meva and def may if fairly significant can help with survivability. But without things like dt and mdb they will likely still die fairly quickly unless they raise them to decently greater than say random 119 jug without pet gear. The acc will allow the DDs to hit which I guess means you can just use that and tank yourself or heal yourself and either way hope the mobs don't AoE much. The enmity thing will help the whm ones not take hate and the tank ones will likely still suck balls.Originally Posted by SE
None of that really addresses longevity though. Namely mp management. Even arciela who plays as a buff/debuff rdm only can't maintain her own mp with refresh II and the occasionally gimp ballad from ulmia unless you can get ticks running around.
Which brings up another problem... songs are incredibly gimped. Like Arciela throwing on refresh/haste II does double what ulmia + joachim do with double ballad/march. One huge glaring problem is they basically made every job naked with a few differences in /checkparam stats and a couple of traits but some jobs have very basic things they will always gear or be gimp such as dt on tanks or + song on brds or refresh on all mp users etc.
Back in my day ninjas had to sub pup to solo Ash Dragon.
Ah, I see what I did there. Not KB. Just "B" is what I meant. Guess I'm just so used to only caring about one behemoth in my life. On King Behemoth we'd just kill it (ignoring TH status) due to the consensus being a slot-based drop mechanism on D-ring. Thank you for finding that.
Well, my main just got slapped with a perma. Had a temp a couple weeks back, immediately stopped using everything I did before (which was literally just Clipper and basic windower addons) other than ja0wait. I just didn't want to deal with animation lock. Funny thing is that my mule account continues to use Clipper, and has for years, and yet has never once been touched. Never go above 12% movement with it, just as I did with the main account.
Well, it was a fun ride, but it looks like I won't be seeing the end of the story after all. Not sure why they're cracking down near the end of their game, but here we are.
Temporary ban was April 28, during the last big wave, and the permanent was tonight, literally an hour and a half ago. A bit odd to me that they occurred basically two weeks apart from one another. Still confused as to why only my main account was targeted when I've used the exact same programs/addons with the mule, but what can you do?
And don't be too sorry for me. I was cheating and I admit to it. I'm just bitter that you can look around and see so many JP players with multiple afterglow relic/mythics sticking around while I'm getting hit because I hate their animation lock crap. But, then again, guilty, so I can't complain too much. I've been a bit addicted to the game for quite some time, so maybe this will be a good way to force me to stop.
D44 has been gathering testimonies about ban dates in relation to subscription renewal. While we obviously (just look at the history of this thread) don't see eye to eye on much, he might have point about that--and questioning individuals is unfortunately the best way to proceed for monitoring this phenomenon. Did you get banned permanently shortly after renewal?
The account was actually scheduled to renew tomorrow. I'll have to see if I still somehow get charged, even after removing my credit card from the account.
To some extent, it may be impossible to detect certain things directly. Instead, encoding events in a certain way to catch exploiters is a roundabout solution. For example, if someone was repeatedly killing Salvage bosses, SE could put a hidden counter that goes up each time they die. If they find your run count is more than 1, you're probably doing something shady. Put another way, it's more about identifying impossibilities within content. That includes getting from A to B faster than with Flee/Powder Boots/move gear constraints, getting past doors with(out) proper keys, killing mobs out of order (like if behind earlier doors), and so on. To what lengths SE has gone we'll probably never know because it would all be backend.
Instead of banning ppl SE should just all throw them into 1 seperate server. People can still enjoy the last breath of the game and play with likeminded fellows. But that solution would be too un-japan for them I guess.
I actually love the idea of a jail server.
Honestly, that seems like a great idea. They keep their same revenue while removing cheaters from the general population that disagrees with them. It would be like old online shooters where all of the cheaters would be forced to play against each other only. We would all be on the same playing field and couldn't complain about anything.
I concur, and then when people remake a character they get even more income
The only blowback would be people trying to purposely get banned to get there or the possibility of it filling up.
As far as the bans are going. I think it is safe to say that JA0 is a prime trigger, and less safe to say that I suspect that movement speed is not so much the trigger.
The jail server would be dead within a week because cheaters get bored if everyone else is cheating because then they have no advantage.
Eh, he's not entirely off the mark. Regardless, if they did the jail server thing, one character getting busted should flag the whole account (and maybe CC), thus getting all mules/alts ported with the inability to create on legit worlds.
