People say a Super Bowl rematch can't happen. Well, it can, it's just statistically unlikely. It is, however, more statistically likely for the best two teams play in the Super Bowl than any other single result. The Seahawks are still, IMHO, the best team in the league. They've lost a little, but their closest competitors (the 49ers) seem to be in worse shape. The schedule could get them, though, as 10 games against the NFC and AFC West could prove difficult to navigate, and I don't particularly like the Seahawks' chances on the road in January against either the Saints or Packers, the two teams that are most likely to beat them there.

The Broncos still seem to be the class of the AFC, although the Patriots are right there. Anybody other than these two teams coming out of the AFC would be a significant surprise to me, wheres the NFC has 4-5 teams I could see making a run. I see the Eagles as a potential dark horse, given their schedule could give them a big edge towards home field advantage in the NFC.
Your post said Seahawks over 49ers in the Super Bowl IIRC

Did the Chiefs self-immolate sometime in the last couple of months and I didn't notice? Surprised (slightly) to see so much PRIVS love over Kansas City.

    Baltimore moreso.

For ever and ever now, haha

I'm no fan of the Chiefs, or even Andy Reid really, but I have to think there is a contingent of folks in the west who are hoping he literally breaks a leg so that Chase Daniel can step up.

Warren Moon did pretty okay for himself. I mean, sure, he never won anything in the NFL, but he would have been fantasy gold.

Yes, yes it did. But if you look at the page of the thread I linked, I did fix it to Seahawks over Broncos prior to kickoff.

That being said, I think the NFC Championship game was more of a Super Bowl than the Super Bowl in some ways, so maybe that's what I was predicting subconsciously.

the chargers surged late in the season and have a pretty dynamic offense with a lot fo young talent. their defense has been improving, too. they have solid coaching for once in their lives and p rivs has the heart of a CHAMPION

the ravnes had a down year full of injruies, terrible coaching, and a god awful offensive line. they've fixed all 3 of those issues now, at least on paper. they're a perennial contender, and no real reason to believe they won't be back in contention.

the chiefs had an extremely up year full of health, overachieving play, and a piss easy schedule. they've now lost o-line, addressed none of their holes in the offseason, and face tougher opponents. ain't no 9-0 run in their future.

I know, just busting your balls.

Also I like all the people saying the NFC title game was the Super Bowl, pretty sure most people thought Denver was the team to beat. Revisionist history up in here.

I was hoping Denver would win, but all the sports shows would not let up on the fact that defenses win Super Bowls..

I think that's the single most accurate synopsis of any sports franchise in one sentence. I am not excited for week 1.
