    Uhhhh... I can probably answer that for him as we have highly similar tastes:

    Dark Souls 2
    SRW games
    More Gundam stuff
    Any and all jRPGs (this list is too damn long)

    I think Dynasty Warriors stuff too but not 100% sure on that

    If you're looking for Tales-like recommendations though...

    Star Ocean series
    - SO2 is highly superior to the rest in my personal opinion
    - SO1 SNES fan translation is superior to PSP release
    - SO3/4 are just ok
    - Gameplay is on a 3D plane
    - Highly complicated skill systems/crafting
    - Focused on doing replays with different paths and different chars on paths

    Uh.......

    That's like pretty much it honestly. Everything else I'm thinking of fits too much into the ARPG realm.

    the last SO I played you could beat it then/or? go up a tower with boss mobs with like a million hp. ps2 I think

    I never made it to the top of that fucking tower I think I was lv 200 or some shit

    Compared to SO2, it's just ok. SO2 is definitely the best of the series.

    Had to be something.

    I just think SO2's more enjoyable overall. SO3 is very good, yes, but I hate having only 3 chars.

    I still need to finish 4, but from where I got to before I got bored trying to finish up missable quests with annoying as crap drop rates, well, you can see from that what really pissed me off.
