How do I activate the new FFXI UI?

I saw a post saying you could activate it but whenever I do it doesn't do anything.

It's not out on the live server yet. Test server only.

And the test server is shut down.

And SE didn't update the UI on the test server for over a year after implementing it.

And SE has added new things to our current UI that weren't in the test server UI.

The whole test server should probably be scrapped >.> just wasted bandwidth keeping that thing up for no reason, especially when they don't even release any content on it to be tested, the only major content released on test server that I can think of was Legion. I believe they actually tried to hype the community to log in and try and test it which I think was a minor success but beyond that there was nothing.

Not to mention they stopped putting up other things on it too like they used to.. I think all the negative feedback from the sp2s got to them lol. Plus they stopped adding things to help us test out newer stuff like how they gave you infinite brews for abyssea.

And then there is the fact that they usually ignored the people testing or had stuff that was great on the test server that gets ninja nerfed when it goes live

They scrapped the test server a few months ago.

Test server makes no sense at the speed they release updates to XI these days anyhow; it was just an extra burden maintaining two code bases for public/test. As for new UI, there's still the tickbox for it on the public FFXI Config tool, so who knows if it's scrapped or not.


Only good thing to come out of the test server anyhow was the leaks of WIP Adoulin zones before the expansion was announced.

I have no idea if that was ever fixed, but metatrons def down effect, was sticking better (not saying its 100%)
