Was at the Stars-Islanders game tonight, what a god damn shootout. GF got hit by a stray puck right in the mouth and had to leave early. Got a nasty split lip but an awesome story at least.

I know on the backs of the tickets here, it's basically like "If you get hit by a puck, that's too bad. If you wanna vent to someone, here's the Charles Darwin Hotline. Next time, pay attention."
That sounds totally rude, but that's pretty much how they sum it up here.

A disclaimer isn't bullet proof in court, especially in the circumstances of the NHLs situation (activity consists of spectating entertainment, risk has included prior deaths, disclaimer can't assist as at 100MPH most human beings can't do anything to protect themselves anyways). They'll lose more in PR being a goon trying to stiff a family when Tiny Timmy breaks his nose than they ever would just giving out some free tickets or a signed puck to make things go away. Not to mention court and lawyer costs if it ever went to a civil suit.

Didn't catch the game at all other then highlights. Not much to say about a 3-1 loss other then I'm happy Wideman scored on his old team? To add to that, he's scored 5 goals since being a healthy scratch in the second game of the season and is leading the league in goals by a defensemen with those 5 goals (he had 4 goals all last season so already an improvement ._. )

I'll say, for a team of "non-x-factors who will never be good", Calgary looked pretty damn good to me. I wouldn't be shocked if they kept winning and made the playoffs, if they keep getting better. Calgary dominated large chunks of the second period and the Caps of the last 3 years would have broke and given up a goal or two but they weathered it last night. Backstrom's goal in the first minute of the third deflated them a bit and let the Caps hold out to the end.
