I've watched them a few times, they are all even +/- despite being an offensive powerhouse(yes, +/- is a shit stat, I know). Benn was -4 the other night. They have not been very good defensively.

Meanwhile, Burracuda with a lovely pass to set-up Mojo. ANND refpuck as Captain Sedin dives.

They were minus 4 because they scored 2 goals on the PP and Lindback let in softies all night and they were on the ice for the ENG. It's a bad stat as you acknowledge, stop using it.

+/- is a bad stat and you should feel bad.

because they can't score for shit. While +/- is bad, it can tell some things when used in context. The Dallas top line is giving up plenty of goals, while scoring plenty. People like Eller/Fucktard aren't scoring and just giving up goals(which isn't all that good either).

Seguin/Benn/Spezza have been on ice for 7 goals against. Carter/Pearson/Toffoli have been on ice for 0 goals against.

You tell me which line is better all around right now

I never said they weren't better defensively/all-around. But they're not "undisputed the best line in hockey right now" as he said. They've been on the ice for poor goal-tending as evidenced by the on-ice-sv%. I've watched all the games and none of the goals against were due to lazy back-checking or poor defensive coverage by forwards.

Kunitz-Crosby-Hornqvuist, Benn-Spezza-Seguin, and 70s line are all in the contention for best line right now. Neither are heads and tails above each other.

The 70s line is better at every single advanced stat and they have given up ZERO goals in 5v5.... but not better, okay.

Meanwhile the Dallas top line's GA/60 is higher then their team's GA/60 by nearly a full goal. Both Dallas and Pitt top lines are looking great on the PP but the 70's line is crushing them 5v5.

I didn't say they were bad, though I don't think they are anything special and don't know why anyone cares about them. I was merely stating how you relate context to +/-. Though their GA/60 is 4.5, so they give up a fuck ton of goals atm.

Here's the problem with using advanced stats with an 8 game sample size. When they're on the ice for 3 softies in one game, it's going to hugely swing their total stats. Dallas has admittedly been poor defensively to start the season, and that line has been on the ice more and in key situations, so it makes sense.

From watching the Kings, they as a team are giving up a ton of shots right now and Quick does skew the +/- a whee bit by standing on his head repeatedly. Not sure how many SoG the 70s line has against them right now. And Toffoli and Carter play with Kopitar centering the 1st PP unit.

Corsi is the picture I showed and the 70's line is FAR better then the rest of the Kings.
