Did you guys get an e-mail like the instructions said before you code was able to be activated? PC version.
All I saw was the Twitter, so I went to the preorder site and logged in ( took my 18 digit code that SE gave me 1 month ago when I preordered it) then took the 18 digit code, went to mog station entered it and then profit
Would have been great if a link to those directions were included on the page where you get the 20-digit code. I have an SS of that page on my desktop at home; it doesn't even reference Mog Station. Yeah, it's easy enough to find if you go to the Lodestone, but why wouldn't you just put it on the code page so people can simply continue on to the next step?

It was very clear and easy to follow and mentions the Mog station like 8 times plz
it's convoluted that you input a code to get a code to me, but i did that shit months ago when i preordered and they laid out the activation pretty plainly with step by step shit
i mean dont you niggas go to the lodestone everyday wtf
Let's move on. I never saw that page during the code process. If you go directly from buying the expansion to trying to register the code, it is materially less clear, but Mog Station is referenced as a footnote on the last page which I missed.
At this point I think the single thing they could do to get me hyped the most for 3.0 would be to play another field video with "Unspoken".
I'm hyped for the server crash in June 19-25
It's going to be worse this time tho, because "early access" is pretty meaningless for an expansion, everyone that plays the game is going to buy the expansion and there's no reason to wait until after it's released to buy it if you already play the game.
It's not a (re)launch of the game like 2.0 was where plenty of people were just waiting to see how it fared before going in, we know what the game is now and the vast majority of people already know whether they're going to be playing or not. Not to mention even new people that just started recently have no doubt learned by now that they need to power through the MSQ before the expansion if they want access to any of the content.
Spoiler: show
I don't really understand how it can be "worse". The load has already been distributed. There's not going to be a sudden influx of new players, they're already coming back now. New areas might be slammed but it's not going to take down the whole datacenter (that will happen on its own because of SE's own fuckups, not because of player influx).
Uh....you don't remember zones crashing from S rank pops then I guess?
Cutriss, the point is that the influx of logins spiking VERY HIGH at release of expansion will cause problems. "The load" is no distributed, it's merely at manageable levels currently. When you have massive amounts of concurrent logins that chews up a ton of resources.
The servers are not designed for optimal performance under that amount of stress (clearly), they're designed for the average load. It's not cost effective for the former. It's GOING to be bad at launch guaranteed.
More people have touched the game at this point than 2.0 launch. The servers will be slammed by so many people trying to access the game at the same time that normally dont access it, as stated above. I always have hopes that they prepare for heavy traffic, but launches always get borked.
No amount of preparation will give a solid launch, especially if there is a lot of hype to back the expansion. WoW had a lot of major issues with WoD launch, and although the hype isn't probably 3mil+ strong, it's definitely going to be very straining on the back end server loads.
I haven't seen a solid launch of a popular game or game expansion in years. I doubt I ever will again. That's just the reality of things.
