He said the MSQ was about the size of 2.0, so for the scenario we can guess. As for new jobs, I don't expect that to take much time either. I started from scratch in 2.0 pretty much (had 3 jobs at 20 from the last "Beta" before 2.0) and my casual ass was getting mythology tomestones in the second week after launch. Think I stepped into my first Coil like a week or so later? This all didn't feel like I "rushed" to endgame. Hell, everything up to this point, including Coil, was me exploring. Which can be alot of fun, I agree, but if there's no carrot at the end of the road, I can't be arsed to care.
That's not the issue. It's SE lying again. " we want you to enjoy the game so raid will be 4 weeks after"
While the truth is, we will put raid 4 weeks later, so people don't bitch too fast about the lack of real content
With all the lockouts it's useless to level other jobs as a "content"
I mean when coil was in lockout I was sch, what will I do with monk 50. Expert roulette? Then what
The lockout system forcing you into specializing in 1 job is certainly a waste of the game's potential (ie. you can play every job on one character, but only 1 in content that matters).
It's also a way to artificially lengthen content along with lockouts, if people could gear and play more than 1 job in endgame content groups would be easier to make and content easier to clear.
I don't get how being able to gear more than one job for endgame makes clearing content easier. Mind explaining?
It only makes it easier in that it offers some flexibility. It's essentially the same if everyone plays whatever 1 job they do really well, but if you have multiple people who are geared and skilled you can switch job configurations (and people, honestly, which would be the best use of it) to suit the turn.
It offers a lot more options without a stable static basically.
If you can gear a DPS spec and a tank spec at the same it means that if you hit a fight where you can 1 tank to overcome a DPS hump then you'll just do that and won't have to bench the player whom is your OT tank for someone who's been using their lockouts on DPS gear.
If you're perfect players im sure that a dps in baseline gear would be fine but in a non-perfect world a little extra gear makes everything easier.
It's almost impossible to purposely gear two jobs at once during progression without gimping one of them.
I'm all for early access, especially for FFXIV.
Get my classes lvled up to cap and cap the weekly tokens, get my other classes lvl, my gathering/crafting up, start shoveling that gil by the hundreds of millions as those that didn't get early access, but want all the cool new toys, buy from me~
4 days of Early Access is too insignificant for me to make it feel special. I'm unsure why they even bothered to offer it as a pre-order bonus. More in-game items would be fine.
Except weekly tokens won't be added for 4 (or 2?) weeks after launch?
And I would be capping every job as well if SE would let me gear more than 2-3 jobs each ilvl cycle. So I have to pick favourites. I expect I can get 2 jobs from 50 (or 30 if I like a new job) to 60 in 2 weeks.
Also lolgil.
When the fuck are they going to allow digital pre-orders on PSN? Or am I blind and not seeing it?
If I remember rightly (and I may not) the weekly capped tomestones aren't available until Alexander (Hard/Savage) is release, so definitely not early access lol
It's possible that the weekly scrips might be released beforehand though (DoH/DoL shit) ? I can't remember anything about those
I think they said the hardest part about building an airship will be the materials to gather rather than crafting the ships themselves. Aka if you want to visit NM island you'll need to buy mats. Especially with the new DoL passes/buffs making you choose to gather 1 item instead of another.
I'm still expecting FC airships to be basically just FC housing crossed with treasure maps.
