I'd put my money on new tank being temple knight off lancer....
I'd put my money on new tank being temple knight off lancer....
Also be the new race they showed as a joke is mixed From ff tactics and that race is Templar iirc
Without combos that add enmity it would be pretty damn difficult to implement a tank off lancer. Also positional stuff would be negated. This is one of the failings of the armory system.
Level 30 JA that makes changes regarding that is all it would need #justsaying
That's what everybody keeps saying. Do we really want every level 30 job ability to be a stance that basically tries to undo everything the class was originally intended to do?
Thrust combo 123 same as pld they don't got anything else
I really hope not. I hate the class branching system and would much rather have jobs with their own unique abilities.
Lets get more Korean Grinder in my ARR. That'll bring in the cash.
No. Just give me the content. If the content is great, I don't care what level I'm at when the content is finished. I don't need to feel the illusion of "strength" by completely having to clear every quest hub in a zone to stay on pace, level-wise. Been there, done that.
And yet the game needs some group grinding. This instance-heavy, hit your coil appointments, cap your tomestones then peace out thing ain't healthy for the game.
It is and it isn't though. A large portion of the FFXI population who played when they had tons of free time have not aged into FFXIV where they have a lot of other real life things that keeps their playtime low. So being able to do endgame without waking up at 3 am for a Fafnir window is a good change of pace life-wise.
At least that's the vibe I get from talking with my FC members that all migrated from FFXI
That's the rub. XIV was designed to appeal not only to FF fans, but to XI fans. We're all getting older, and lots of people have careers and families now. Are they folks who can meet the varying schedules like XI used to cater to? Sure, but those guys really don't post here. They came from <other game> or maybe never played an MMO before. There's a lot of folks in the pool.
Leveling from 50-60 in 3.0 will probably take the same amount of time as leveling from 1-50 in 2.0, which was between 2-3 days of game time.
As for crafting, I have a feeling SE is going to make that 50-60 grind more difficult. If the most recent crafting adjustments and changes have shown anything it's that SE doesn't want everyone to easily reach max in all DoH/DoL. The i70 tool grind was pretty time consuming because of the need to HQ a long synth 50 times. Then you have the i75 tool grind, which is either easier or worse depending on how much gil you have. If you can spend the 2 mil it takes to get the mats then it isn't so much of an issue. If not, expect to grind desynth for a long time, especially with how SE's RNG system doesn't seem to reflect the success rate it tells the player. Also, 85-100 or even 70-100 is costly and time consuming for most crafts. Lastly, the player is forced to split 300 levels among 8 crafting classes.
I know at fan fest they said the most recent crafting tool requirements are going to be nerfed after 2.5. It may have been earlier than that. Either way, it makes sense for that nerf to come then because it'll be a huge gate for most crafters come 3.0. However, they could just say screw it and make the requirements for 50-60 synthing less demanding than the highest tier synths now. I'm not sure how that'll go over with some people on the OF though, so we may get some comedy out of it.
Incursion is an excellent example of group/alliance content, that rewards you with EXP CP and loot and you actually can accomplish something and you can accomplish more by ramping the difficulty up yourself everytime how much you want without limits. Albeit the loot is a bit random with personal chests and augments, but its fine (not VW random)
I wouldnt mind a crystal tower like 24 man stuff, where you work your way up while getting exp and get then rewarded with a personal chest that has rewards and some random augmented stuff to go from lvl 50-60, all the while being able to increase the difficulty by yourself and thus expanding the amount of rewards you get.
That's not even necessary. SCH doesn't need a stance to change the rat summon into a fairy summon; the ability itself is simply different, no explanation required or given.
The "rules" aren't an obstacle when you make them and can ignore them at your leisure.
You're all old and don't count.
Turn Lancer into a tank in five abilities without a stance. Go.
We low-manned Ultima and Omega with DRK tanks. People also tanked Fafnir with BRD before they enmity nerfed mazurka, and BLU was probably the 'strongest' blood-tank until Ochain and shield rework.
Just because you can abuse mechanics or power through subpar conditions does not mean they are a tank.
Not really important to the topic at hand, but why the hell would you even use sword/shield as a DRK to tank.
DRK have no shield skill <_<
