What's the issue exactly? Fire has a normal cast time of 2.5 and Thunder II has a normal cast time of 3.0. Thunder 2 = 3.0 * .85 = 2.55 and Fire = 2.5 * .85 = 2.12
You know the gear probably has at least some amount of spell speed on it which would account for the fractions that are left.

marketing hype pretty much. You're making the buyer feel as if they are experiencing a one of a kind event. Youre not targeting gauranteed buyers, but those That are teetering on the fence. Also for the onlookers in the gaming community. Whether it's effective or not it costs them very little and generates at least some external interest

Seems to me that the only real effect of "Early Access" is that Steam players get screwed (as you can't buy it early, nor register for early access, through Steam).

It's up on steam currently, and they are advertising it as having early access enabled. It just got put up the same day they introduced refunds

One of my FC mates bought ARR on Steam and has been trying to figure out a way to register for early access for weeks with no success. It looks like they just recently added that option.

Yep, I'm aware I've been scouting it out daily as I am a steam FF14 user myself and it is silly the system they have in place. (If you check I was trying to trade pre order codes and purchased the PS4 version of the game to get around it) Literally just yesterday was when I saw the option to purchase. I'm wondering how you even get the early access of the version since there is no code. . .

Its really just there for hype and allows people to start playing w/o needing to wait for their physical products (which is often a problem w/WoW expansions when people buy the CE physical)

It's just a silly way to get people locked in earlier than the release date. You'd be surprised the number of people who can't even save up 50 bucks in this day and age, lol.

It's the code that comes in your physical copy of the game or a second code that was/will be distributed with your digital purchase.

The time differential is to account for shipping delays of physical copies of the game. This gives more leeway in getting your official game code registered. It's a very common practice for MMOs.
