Game confirmed not fun after over a year of release for Koul, confirmed dead game for general public. Nothing but us pseudo-Draylos left to defend it.
In one of those interviews I translated recently Yoshida explicitly said he was probably going to drop the release date at either PAX East or GDC, so it sounds like it'll be part of this.
May 31st or balls to the wall "it's still technically spring!" June 20/21st.
Place your bets.
Unforseen delay. End of July.
And Alexander won't be ready until 3.1?

No, that will be intentional since we'll be absolutely inundated with DRGs because of Ishgard feels.
I'm fine with this, it's how most MMOs handle raid releases, you have the expansion release and then 3 months until your raid is released so people can level up, gear up, and get ready for it by doing the new content that has been released. I'm not so sure what you were expecting, imo having BCoB release day 1 with ARR was a huge flaw, it should have been CT that launched with the game but fucking eastern development team trying to pretend they're western but failing at the most basic concept of releasing raid content.
I was implying that Alexander would be delayed in the same way that CT was (which they then continued to release at the wrong point in the patch cycles 2 more times....because reasons?).
I haven't kept up on all the info about the expansion but I thought Alex was supposed to be akin to CT rather than Coil.
From what I read, Alexander is the next Coil, and Eureka is our next raid.

Light translation since I only skimmed through the page. My Japanese isn't perfect either, feel free to correct me.
Rewards given to the player via Alexander Raid is different to the current system in Binding Coil.
3.0 will introduce new frontline rules and have a new map.
Setzer set from the Golden Saucer is male exclusive.
3.0 teaser site will get an update or something soon.
More Retainers to be added (?)
The Battle for Ishgard is different to something called "Hamlet Defense" (I'm not a 1.0 player, sorry).
Note: These translations are from comment 690 based on two twitter posts, so it may not be 100% legit.
No, Eureka is going to be part of CT but it'll be a different kind of raid. The new CT will be something unique to FFXIV and not taken from other games.
I was under the impression Eureka got ditched due to amount of development resources available or some shit, and we got WoD in its place as the finale to CT.
WoD was always supposed to be the finale of CT - according to Yoshida Eureka got canned because they "couldn't get it right". It's likely they either didn't have resources to do all four wings or they just didn't want to extend the 2.x patches by that much. Eureka was an optional cave so it's not surprising that's the one that got cut out.
It had great music tho, shame.
I thought he said that FF3s world was filled with their own unique powerful weapons and they don't want to approach a territory where they could have some sort of influence in lore or.. "Odin did it" kind of bullshit.
Crystal Tower has been mostly following with FFIII, so after this dungeon I'm hoping there are two more? What are you thinking?
Since the Forbidden Land Eureka is more of a treasure vault than a dungeon, there's a high likelihood that we may use it in a different way. The presence of the Cloud of Darkness and the World of Darkness will become clear at the end of Syrcus Tower, and Doga and Unei will appear and may come into play in the storyline..Q25: Will the story for the Crystal Tower end in the next Crystal Tower update?
A25: First, the story for the Coil of Bahamut will end in patch 2.4. Next, the story for the Crystal Tower will come to an end in patch 2.5. We are also planning to make the Forbidden Land, Eureka, but because it might have a different feel compared to the Crystal Tower, we are thinking of possibly introducing it after waiting a while.
When I said "the new CT" I just meant the new 24 man faceroll dungeon.
Re: Eureka, It seems to me that they left a deliberate hook for it right at the end of the WoD cutscenes: Nero. He survives (after briefly being a nod to the ff3 Warriors of Darkness), for no particular payoff to the existing overall CT plotline, but he's had enough character development in it that it would be weird to drop him back into the main mission plotline, given that you can entirely skip the CT sideplot, and future players likely will. (I mean, Square still clearly could do that, there's just an argument not to.) He still has a motivation to "get better to show up the good guy rival" standard Vegeta crud, and he ends with tossing his magic-technology-finder-dragonball-locator-thingy into the foggy chasm around the Tower as he wanders off. There might have even been a kind of ping noise when he did so, but it could have been my imagination.
So, future sideplot setup: he realizes his device has detected something awesome down there, somehow Team Good Guys gets wind of it, maybe because he needs help and grudgingly comes to you for it, whatever. Anyway, surprise! There's some fancy Allag treasure vault under the tower that we missed, guarded by some random number of defensive measures, say, randomly, 4 big ones and 3 packs of little ones. Or it could be something smaller scale, the single new 4-man dungeon for a patch down the line, or some kind of thing related to future zodiac weapon quests that requires CT completion to progress. But whatever form it takes, I expect it'll be introduced by Nero.
Definitely a ping noise when he throws his locator into the chasm.
