Preview looked sweet. Looks like you can go pretty high up vertically with flying too.

I'm totally afraid flying will ruin what little of the overworld is left. Why walk when you can just woosh into the clouds where nothing can presumably agro/kill you? Or just AFK at max altitude?

I see they are going with the FF3 Shaman and Magus armor set for the lvl 60 WHM and BLM gear, FFIV Yang and Kain armor for MNK and DRG, and FFVI Shadow for NIN.

Was kinda sad how terrible MNK AF2 looked but female toons will def look better in it. Also glad to see NIN has class-appropriate looking weapons again. Current armor and weapons for NIN are pretty much thief lol.

^ That so much, i can see the sense of some of them for the debate about flying in WoW but for 14...just gtfo with that shit if you want to walk/choco bloody well do it because by the looks of it the only advantage that flying mounts have over normal ones is that they are flying, no increased speed like in wow so your not gimping yourself getting places...unless its to the floating shit then well tough titties.

And one final point...nothing in the overworld can kill you, you can already outrun everything even at a low level so that is kind of a moot point.

Whelp, after watching the tour, I know for certain that I won't be playing male Au Ra. There's no way I could watch that goofy gait for any length of time.

Gonna have to put a hold on judgment of the females until the character creator benchmark drops, but it's gonna take something really amazing for me to switch from the adorbness that is a Falafel.

Hoping for an unrealistic date is one thing, expecting it is entirely another. If you were expecting anything before the middle of May, you're dumb and set yourself up for disappointment.

Edit: All that new AF looked like what they originally teased way back in 2.1. MNK/DRG/BRD look the most similar to the original concept art.

That is a lofty claim to be making for an MMO xpac on the launch. Usually that's more 1st update material.

The quote from way back when was that the expansion was supposed to be equivalent in size to 2.0 FFXIV (not including any of the patches that followed). So yeah, I agree with you that I'm somewhat skeptical for the time being. But that preview video did look quite vast as far as new zones go, so I'm hoping they can deliver.

I've actually unsubscribed for the time being. I may come back on for 2.55 or whatever the next storyline patch is but the game got kinda dull and repetitive for me.
