I'd like more info on the black chocobo, myself. Separate mount? Company Chocobo suddenly learns new trick? ...Just gotta dye it black?
Othermounts look nice and all, but the flying chocobo has cuteness on lock.
Better get to catchin' in that chocobo forest.
FFIV 4 lyfe.
Pretty sure they said that the black chocobo is a unique mount itself that will be available early on as we progress through Heavensward.
The big question to me is how restricted is flying going to be.
Certain zones? Just certain areas of certain zones? Will it just be zones in this expansion or will future zones allow flying too?
Will they actually make good use of 3D maps or is it just a couple scenic throughways and quest locations to get to?
They mentioned it will only be in Heavensward that we'll be able to fly with the mounts that are capable, everywhere else in the 2.0 regions will just be grounded and unable to fly. Who knows if that will change but I'm sure that flying will be a thing from here on out for the game until they realize that everyone is overlooking everything and flying over any hazard on the ground to get from point A to point B and they return us to flightless areas in whatever expansion that leads to.
What hazards are there on the ground atm? I mean what difference will it make on the ground in or in the air, we bypass everything on mounts right now. Also after we unlock all teleports what exactly will be the difference?
No more heavy
instead youll fall off your mount and instantly die 20% of the time
Well in other games with flying mounts... stuff can hit you and potentially knock you off your mount.. falling to your death (as your in combat in your 500 foot drop to the ground/into oblivion). Although its usually in the form of something on the ground, like a anti aircraft gun, or things floating around something. Not just stuff floating around the world intending to kill you while you afk, although didn't they say bismark...? would be a fight in the sky using mounts...? airships? fc airship?
what does define that? on one hand more dangerous zones are fun, but if it boils down to just casting some form of sneak/invis like in FF11 i rather not have that hassle. . .
I think it would be perfect if you just couldnt run through it with mount/feet and had to fight your way through, but still doable solo/companion. Anything that would require a pt to get trhough normal zones would be a big mistake in game-design imho.
I don't get why the outside world needs to be so dangerous. Warrior of light defeated by a level 99 Ahriman outside of whocares, so much for saving the world from primal gods when random mobs on the world map can 1-shot you.
If there's anything that makes exploration even more annoying it's monsters that can rape you without a second look. But hey, I'm sure they'll get the balance right, right?
add deleveling
