Real Shantotto crossed over into Eorzea then referenced it in XI some time later. Shattoto was just wordplay referencing Shantotto.
On a related note, I'd like to see them do something like the relic weapon quest, but for AF armor.
You could add ability enhancements (e.g. add Stoneskin effect to Benediction, Regen effect to Sacred Soil, damage reduction during Cover, etc.) to the gear and then have a quest each patch to upgrade that entire gearset to similar iLVL as concurrent relic weapon upgrade.
All this talk of ilevels, difficulties and related matters. Fact is until SE loses some subs you aren't gonna see any big sweeping changes. The vast majority of the player base isn't well-invested in raid content or itemization arguments enough to rattle the cans so loud that Yoshi or the dev team can hear.
Things are really rolling along. The game is a big success for SE, most people are happy with systems in place, and that just means nothing will change too dramatically. If it ain't broke, don't fix it as they say.
ARR doesn't need big, sweeping changes. It needs to come into it's own, which Heavensward promises.
The major fires are out, the ship is saved, the day is won. Yoshida has proven that he can transmute shit into gold and that he's one of SEs golden children. Helluva salesman he is. Lets hope he hasn't applied too much spin though.
With all the new primals, a completely Yoshida-directed project free of Tanaka-isms and the type of scale we've been promised the little things like better gear itemization, greater customization of character and more reasons to utilize a free company are really the major concerns to be addressed. The game could use more personal touch and running back to some ideas that worked in XI isn't exactly a cardinal sin.
On people complaining about story seriously, cmon. It's a Final Fantasy title. If you want deep fantasy, read a damn book.
What if the difference between Alexander NM and HM was RNG vs Tokens?
As in, if you run normal, you have no control over your drops. If you run HM, you get Vintage/Token/Etc to trade for specific items?

Set bonuses would be nice, especially with how they have set bonuses working in the game really adds some good potential to them. Each item having its own unique bonus is really nice rather having a single bonus you gain access to with multiple pieces.
I'm no longer confused by why you kept repeating the same shit over and over again: you can't read.
Myself, Lucavi, and others have already mentioned things like this several times.
Yeah dawg, been saying that. I forgot that GC gear already does that, good point.
Also on the subject of GCs... Are we getting rank increases in 3.0?
Let me make comments without context because it's the Internet. Am I doing it right?
If you'd go read the last 5 pages of shit, I continuously made suggestions like this which were only met by Spider-Dan and Sho telling me I'm wrong and that my ideas were bad, or just completely ignoring them. Now he presenting it as original thought.
you trippin cuz
If hard mode gave you tokens and you picked out the piece of coil gear you wanted, normal mode would be a broken, stupid waste of time in comparison.
Haven't you received enough Aiming earrings in coil to intuitively know this as fact? To say nothing of EFFING WEAPONS.
SE's idea of "hard" mode tends to be enter the fight in DF on day 1 and one shot it.
Of course the new raid will be normal/hard rather than hard/extreme so substitute hard for normal and that's what you can expect casual mode to be like.
I'm expecting nothing but story - you beat it once and have no real reason to go back. There's no way the ilevels on drops will be similar.
Maybe it's a good idea if SE were to release alexander raids in DF right from the get go.
