It's far from surprising, it's just sadly for some it's as safer bet than Gamestop/Amazon and such. Especially Gamestop that wants the full payment upfront if you do it online (like many most likely are tryin to do.)

they only put a hold, don't actually take out the money until shipment. They do what Amazon does while Gamestop actually takes out the money

...you can buy it right now from their store though (on Xb0ne anyway). I got it and I didn't even try that hard.

Yeah it gets refunded until shipment, Gamestop just takes your money. I just personally hate paying "for nothing" so to speak. I don't mind it so much when it's like $30-$50 since that's nothing, $100+ is a bit of money just..throw into the air
