As much of a sucker I am for collector's editions, this one just doesn't seem worth the price to me. I understand why people want it, but the fact they added a blu-ray w/ story cutscenes for a CE really felt like they're trying to rip players off.

Yeah I felt like it was a bit much, especially since MGSV CE was only $99. But the Mrs wanted her box CE so what can ya do? ^^;

Well, since you're spending all your money on the collectors edition and won't be able to afford your subscription afterwards, they wanted to give you a way to vicariously enjoy the game.

Not the only one, I'm collecting all of the artbooks actually. There probably won't be many pages, but it'll be the only thing around until they produce another one from SE-MOOK.

So I was really weirded out because PayPal didn't require me to specify a payment method just "Confirm".... so I confirmed and then SE put the order through. I called SE Store Support and they were no help other than "Yeah, you're order is confirmed but I know nothing about payment or how that will happen." Kthx.

So I look to PayPal and see nothing in transactions, did some digging -- under settings there's a pre-approved payments section where I have $0.00 from Pepitastore.com. Turns out this is the SE Online Store (their e-Commerce provider) ... So I call PayPal just to verify everything, chick didn't even know what I was talking about I had to explain to her where I found the pre-approved payments. Anyway, I don't have a PayPal balance, just a card on file, so they said they will default the payment to whatever card I have on file when SE actually requests payment.

Also, she said there was an attempt to transfer ~$25 to Nikolas at Pepitastore or something, so maybe they just attempt to post a transaction to verify valid payment? I dunno.

Just wanted to post all that in case anyone else had questions about using PayPal and/or had a similar experience.

Yes in game stuff is all the same, and all editions get the pre-order bonuses.

I think I managed to place an order for the physical CE as I got email confirmation and they charged .50 cents to card.

Except pre-order key is "NOT_AVAILABLE" and I forgot to enter an extra digit on shipping address. I wonder if the support can help with this but I'm not holding my breath.

Square Enix announced today that Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward XIV: Heavensward, the highly-anticipated first expansion for the popular MMORPG, is now available for pre-order in North America on disc and digitally in three versions as the collector’s edition, standard edition and all-in-one bundle which includes both A Realm Reborn and Heavensward.

The Collector’s Edition package features:

• “Dragonsong War” Exclusive Box featuring art by famed Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano
• Expertly-Crafted Dragon Mount Figure
• Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward Art Book
• Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Movie Blu-ray Disc
• In-game items including a Flying Griffin Mount - Dark Knight Cecil-themed Baron Helm - Wind-Up Kain minion - Fantasia

Additionally, players who pre-order Heavensward will receive exclusive bonuses including:

• In-game items: Baron Circlet - Baron Earrings - Chocobo Chick Courier minion
• Early access to the Heavensward starting June 19, 2015.

Alongside versions available for PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC, a Mac OS version of the title will be available for the first time exclusively as a digital all-in-one bundle.
