Arizona, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico also do not recognize DST. And neither does the rest of the world. It's strictly an American thing invented to help out farmers over a century ago and has no place in the modern world.

Fuck DST I wish we could stick to Standard time. The time change fucks up kids schedules so much. Alternatively when DST happens they should change the start time for schools so the kids get up at relatively the same part of the day. Also I hate waking up in the dark now with DST.

You couldn't be more wrong. First purposed by a New Zealander though didn't go that far. A little bit later proposed by an English man who didn't like that he'd have to cut his afternoon golf games short think the British did implement it then or at least seriously proposed it. A few people adopted but it didn't really catch on until WW1 where a lot of countries did it to conserve energy/coal with the US being one of the last. Afterwards most got rid of it until WW2 then after war was over got rid of it again until the energy crisis of the 70s brought it back for many countries. It's mostly been about energy conservation. And it in fact does do some in that regard even in the modern day (though whether it's worth the headache idk) but in places where the daylight hours don't change all that much like our southern states it doesn't really do much

It'd be an hour ahead. I had originally thought Florida would be like Arizona and stay on standard time but it's daylight savings time instead so when the entire east coast rolls back an hour in Fall Florida would stay the same.
