Exactly. Not sure how people scream this is wrong. They will end up either raising prices or going out of business. If they want to keep their profit margins and be in compliance with the new law...guess prices are going up.

Well yeah thats kind of how it all works, there are many small businesses out there struggling for various reasons especially now that covid is here, others include trying to keep up with companies like Amazon and Walmart, making their profit margins very slim, but they do provide a wage to employees willing to work the job. Its all well and good to say "fuck these small business owners" but it just doesnt seem well thought out to me.

When payroll becomes a bigger expense than you can afford there are only so many options, reduction in force, automation or bankruptcy.

Yeah, this will probably cause bankruptcy. If it was going from 13 to 15, maybe employers drop healthcare coverage to make up the difference and force people into the private markets (to be uninsured, realistically). As it is, these people do not have insurance and there are going to be more than zero companies made unviable by this change.
