You live in Florida, right?
Go grocery shopping, and then buy that same shit next year and lets see whats changed.
Bring them receipts boy.
I expect prices to change faster with oil prices (transportation of raw goods, machinery, energy, etc.) foreign trade deals, or a pandemic that disrupts supply chains rather than wage increases. But I'm only hypothesizing because I'm a scientist not an economist.
You guys haven’t even touched on the fact that wage increase requirements has sent jobs overseas to locations like India and Asia. A very large portion of jobs involving office administration, phone work and document processing for almost every major corporation is gone because they priced us out.
There are labor positions that require a physical associate but as we have seen with the pandemic, many jobs that required an individual to be in an office are easily completed remotely. If we further strain these companies with wage legislations you’ll see a slow decrease in the availability of these types of positions.
Cost suppression needs to start with better trade deals. You have a nation of consumers paying premium for imports on materials and goods. Wages can fluctuate only to a certain point in response but you can’t just raise the floor and expect every company to be able to cover for it. You saw that companies had a massive tax break last year and in response they gave workers $1000. They did that ONCE. You’re talking about giving many workers $10k+? Into perpetuity. You’re out of your mind.
nah fam, check da receipts, there are zero negatives to raising minimum wage and zero drawbacks.
Clearly we just need to abolish the minimum wage. That'll fix everything.
Once again, things no one has said.
Amazing how these companies still find ways to pay their executives more money every year including very generous bonuses too.
They make a dollar, you make a dime. They want to pay you a penny. Well, not want, they don't want to pay you at all.
Would you like an internship for exposure?
You'll do the job, and the manager will expose himself at you.
Remember to say thank you.
You do realize that executive pay and bonus structures usually come in the form of equity instead of actual cash right?
Ackschully, those millions in bonuses isnt in cash why you so hard on them

Don't worry guys, I don't get straight cash in the millions
I just get other things that could be cashed out for millions. See, it's different !?!
Yeah... you totally... got me....? Are you guys this dumb?
Why ask questions you already know the answer to
attempting to compare federal minimum wage and corporate America is apples vs dragonfruit
No min wage job pays 40hr/ week and no corporate America job pays fed min wage. It just isn't meaningful to try and argue either point and being the other up.
