There was that ~2 week period when Laundrie wasnt being surveilled yet.

Not sure if he/they cut Laundrie up, but a few broken knees in the middle of a Florida swamp prone to flooding? Nature handled the rest.

The only other plausible outcome in my mind, but much less satisfying, is Laundrie was on the run and nature still handled the rest.

Petito's parents probably had a pretty good guess what happened when they found out Laundrie returned and his excuse was "idunno..." as to why their daughter wasnt there.

But todays events just don't make any sense for that and a lot of other ideas. FBI searched this area thoroughly enough to call off a search, but the parents join for a few hours and find it so quick with media *right there*?

Did they have instructions to alert the police to the location if his parents didnt hear from him after a few days? Were they waiting for a crime scene to not be under water to make forensic evidence hard to gather? Why would they hide him only to kill him themselves? Is this staged with pulled teeth and hes still on the run? Shit just got weird.
