that kid killed 17 people, including my old football coach, and then walked to subway for lunch, idk but i think we could have all agreed on this one

what makes execution more expensive than lifetime incarceration?
the legal/appeals processes are far more expensive in cases where the death penalty is sought than in ones in which it is not, and the cost of maintaining separate death row facilities is far higher than tossing them into maximum security prisons.
eg there was one federal study that found the cost of a federal death penalty case was 8 times higher than cases where life sentences rather than the death penalty was sought. it is wildly more expensive to litigate death.
principles aren't worth much if they can't withstand the urge to violate them. the kid is about as bad as humans get, sure, does he deserve to die, sure. i still don't want the state having the power of life and death over its citizens.
an eye for an eye, life for a life, is the most primitive form of our species' justice, and one we are in the process of outgrowing. future generations will prolly look back on capital punishment the same way we look back on crucifixions and burnings at the stake. it is the wrong side of history.
if you ever find yourself in a room with the red and brown governments claiming morality over the blue and green something has gone terribly wrong.
i'm for abolishing the thing but if we're gonna have it, why not use it in the .1% of circumstances where it seems perfectly applicable
Hey, if someone shot me and killed a bunch of other people. I wouldn't want the state to have the power to kill them either. I'd want to be the one to kill them.
Spicy signing up for the right to shoot someone after suffering a scratch from a ricochet that grazed his arm.
Majory Stoneman Douglas is offering subs a $25 bonus for tomorrow because they've had mass callouts from teachers
I don't think it's necessarily retaliation from the lack of a death penalty; more just tomorrow is gonna be a headache of demonstrations and no instructions will be taking place whatsoever lol. Locally and on social media the town is not pleased. Even the pro gun control crowd is pissed, which has me scratching my head alright...

Not sure why that confuses you. The majority of the pro-gun crowd is all about right to bear arms and shit...shooting up a school goes waaaaaaaaay beyond that.
CONTROL good sir, gun control group.
I've been struggling all day to find someone outside of BG that think this guy should live.

Governments shouldn't be able to kill people isn't the same as this guy should live.
Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement
Sauron woulda won with yall in charge just sayin
