How is this anything but a nothingburger? Employers already have to fill out an I-9 for new employees. E-verify takes that info and verifies that your employee is eligible to work in the US. Super convenient for those following the law, but "requiring" businesses to use it changes nothing. Anyone breaking the law using illegals for that sweet, cheap labor is just going to keep breaking the law. Don't fill out an I-9, pay people under the table, and move right along....now with the extra step of not using e-verify.

That said, I am less optimistic about Joe's chances against anyone with an R by their name than you seem to be. I would be shocked if any R gets less than 240 electoral votes, which means we are down to the whims of voters in like 5 states again.

The modern partisanship makes getting more than 300 extremely difficult. It's always going to come down to a few swing states.

But Biden has the edge getting to 270. Even if Biden doesn't get AZ or GA this time, Trump needs to flip PA, MI, or WI. I don't see that happening.
