Could you run your analogy by me again? You're saying that... me claiming that a group of people who are often left out of media, gaming media in particular since this is the main subject of the thread, is like you claiming that the group of people represented by most gaming media needs to be represented more? That doesn't make any sense. The only way this analogy could make sense is if LGBT people were represented as often as straight people are, but you've yet to prove this is the case.
Let's note i'm not even asking for straight people to be excluded from any stories. So i'm not saying they're over represented because I don't think that if they are 99% of the population they can only exist in 99% of the games. That's nonsensical. Having straight people and LGBT people isn't mutually exclusive. So while you can have more LGBT characters, it doesn't have to mean that there are less straight characters.
I will give you one point: romance, if present in any way at all, was very muted in Maze Runner. There is a hint of a relationship between the protagonist and the girl, but they could always be siblings for all we know at this point in the movie.
