Actually you know what fuck that. Explain to me how who GG tweets at is in any way representative of what GG is doing. GG isn't trying to shut down Anita or Wu, they're trying to get Gawker kicked off of Google's ad aggregator and refuting Grayson's bullshit excuses for why he's in the DQ credits.

As the article mentioned, most of the activity of GG is centered around twitter which is why it's being used as a metric to see what GG tends to target. And while you might care more about Gawker and Grayson, it seems other people who consider themselves part of GG are more concerned with Anita and Wu.

The majority of GG discussion happens on The Escapist's forums and Reddit, the majority of the activism comes from 8chan. Twitter's character limit, awful moderation, and focus on followers resulting in clique formation makes it a shitty place to do either. Twitter is about maintaining visibility, so of course Twitter GG engages with the most visible opponents of GG.

What GG is actually doing? Look at all the shit it's dug up about gaming journalism, what it's done for charity, whose sponsors it's driven away, and the lengths it's gone to to disrupt the GNAA's trolling.

Despite my pro-GG leanings here, even I thought those "bring back bullying" tweets were just a dumb joke. The fallout is pretty hysterical to watch, though. It's the kind of thing the dumb jock says in college movies. The fact ad folks are taking it seriously is astounding.

The only part of GG I care about is there being less soap boxes in games reviews. Don't dock Tittywitch 2 points because of the titties. Write an article discussing that elsewhere, but the final score shouldn't include morality. These are the same dumb assholes that give Saints Row and GTA amazing scores.
