Thinking back, it's fascinating how quickly things can be redirected from attacking one obviously psychotic and abusive woman into "attacking any woman means you're anti-woman." It's a similar trick to what Muslims often do with the Islamophobia nonsense. An entire group of people becomes immune to criticism because somehow criticizing one particular person is the same as hating the entire group.

But again, attacking her under the #gamergate tag put the lie to it being about ethics in gaming journalism, since while what Zoe did to her bf was awful and worthy of scorn, she didn't corrupt any journalists to her material benefit in the process.

To be fair, just because it hasn't been explicitly proven that she's materially benefited in any way from her infidelities doesn't mean that she hasn't. I think it falls somewhere between cynical and realistic to simply assume she has manipulated (more than likely through sex) her way to her current position in the midst of the indie gaming industry, especially given what's known about her abusive nature. She lost the benefit of the doubt when her heinous shit was exposed.

Having your gf cheat on you with one person is terrible, having her do it with multiple guys is gutwrenching, and her refusing to admit it even AFTER the relationship is done and you know its happened is a kick in the balls, and shows how classless the person is.

Are we talking about journalists writing positive press here or what? She's been "investigated" for what, 4 months now and there is nothing even close to a smoking gun that she was helped by unethical journalists? At this point, the absence of evidence is beginning to point to evidence of absence, and that makes #gamergate look terrible.

I'm not saying "take her word for it" or "give her the benefit of the doubt" - she's had angry nerds willing to hack shit illegally on her case for months and they've dug up, what, some naked pics? #gamergate still has nothing on her beyond her ex's manifesto.

And of course, she's not a journalist anyway - the reason the journalists haven't been targeted nearly to the degree she has been is because nobody has evidence of actual impropriety, right?

I think the point was that the guy was writing articles about her game in a positive light without disclosing that he had a personal relationship to her. Which is a problem. It had nothing to do with her sleeping with him, they could have just been friends and it still would have been a problem. Because GamerGate has turned into this amorphous movement without a set goal some people who were mad about her sleeping with him latched onto that and only that, and not the core problem.

Which has nothing at all to do with the utter lack of evidence that she benefited professionally from those relationships. Like, I get it, she was a part of a lot of infidelity, and that seems to really upset you, but you're just looking for reasons to link her personal life to her professional. If you're that upset when people cheat, I really hope you jump up and down on any men, like politicians or actors, that get caught cheating on their spouses or significant others, otherwise it's just you projecting your own anger onto women.

Between her adultry/infidelity/insanity she laced on her ex, the issues Mallorie Nasrallah had with her and the fiasco with TFYC. I'd say that's all rather telling on her character and the type of person she is. If a persons shittiness comes to surface, they should have the integrity to admit their shittiness. Instantly going on the defensive and accusing everyone who calls you out on your shit is a sign, to me, that you're insecure(which makes sense but admit you're terrible and work on your repentance).
