maybe it is if their threat was something like "I'm gonna kill me that guy and everyone around him". maybe it's fraud if they used it to engender donations and/or publicity. maybe it's just about deliberately wasting law enforcement time and money.




to be fair, they could be investigating a number of things. gawker's probably breaking the law in a million and one ways, and gamejournopros was breaking the law when it conspired to deny allistair pinsof employment.
