I don't see that as sexist anymore than I see cleaning commercials usually featuring/targetting women. "Actor: Marketers didn't want a male lead in our commercial"... Sexism in the industry! Or, maybe they're just trying to maximize their appeal to the primary target audience (and thereby, profits). Coming up next: profit-motivated company makes profit-motivated decisions at the expense of social justice.
EDIT: I got beat to it... RE: your above question, did you just use Square Enix as an example of a company that makes good business decisions? No offense, I love most of what they do (and they've come a long way), but they've made some particularly terrible ones. Maybe I'm still sour <.<
