Well the only thing flagging me to it being cam girl related is the mention of wishlists for other people purchasing stuff for her.

Either way, I couldn't care less. If she's comfortable doing that sort of thing for other people, all the power to her. Not everyone is going to be okay with that, especially not a company like Nintendo.

That being said, I would think if she was doing the cam girl thing, she wouldn't need to necessarily work at Nintendo at all :D

One, its essentially confirmed, despite it being impossible to truly prove, that she was moonlighting as a cam girl on a nude-approved website. This is why she was fired.

Second, this probably happened as a result of Nintendo of America putting her under the microscope, probably as a RESULT of complaints by the Wayne Foundation (anti-sex trafficking group) which itself came as a result of awareness being provided to them via GG.

This was in fact widely condemned on KiA and a bunch of other GG sites. There were stickies expressly advising everyone to leave her the hell alone because getting her fired over it was completely hypocritical and counterproductive to their message. However, this foundation went ahead with it anyway. They are not related to gaming at all.

And thirdly, the aGG boards are eating their own shit for this. First it was PROVEN that GG got her fired, then it was just Nintendo lying to avoid having to admit GG caused it, and now they have nothing.

Honestly I wish none of this had happened. It makes a bunch of people look really bad. This person was nothing compared to the real problem journalists like Alexander, Wu, and Harper.

Sounds about right. The only thing your analysis is missing is the fact that the people who originally started the witchhunt against her may not even be GG supporters. The original movement was frequently getting trolled by 4chan on both sides, and that's plenty of reason to suspect them as having a hand in this as well.

Maybe I am wrong but I thought it was common knowledge that companies can fire you pretty easily for shit you post on social media.

my opinion on gamergate is as follows: game journalism has been dead a long time and nothing they do matters so whether they're trading favors for reviews or not makes little difference, they're still shitty and so is everyone else in any anonymous competitive community. source: i fucked your mom, teabag teabag teabag.

yes. game journalism is a relic of the pre-internet gaming culture. why do i need a published review when i can just go on youtube and watch some LetsPlays or to a fansite and check out what people are saying? The ONLY reason to go to a published space for a review anymore is if you're thinking about getting the game day 1 but aren't sold yet, but honestly if you're really that close just fucking go for it and return it if you hate it.
