If we're talking about desynth on a mule, the mule really wouldn't have the ability to do hunts for Heroes (unless you leveled up a job or got someone to let you leech) and couldn't farm its own Allagan, which is what you'd want to do assuming there's worthwhile things from them. If you could send them back and forth from main/mule, there would be no SB anyway because you'd just be farming them on your main for the purpose of desynthing.

I have 2 chars that I actually play (my mule-turned-alt cleared T9 before my main ._.) and tbh even with 2 chars I'm bored much of the time.

Once you get past the whole initial leveling to 50 and MSQ it's not very demanding at all to keep another character up to snuff with all the gates to actual content/progression.

Yep. I have 4, and 3 have cleared T9. Though most would say the more insane part is that I have 4 more at 25-30 (all exp after 20ish is just from doing 20x leves in challenge log, weekly), all 8 have 50 FSH and 50 CUL. Leves are a hell of a drug. 16 retainers is nice as well though trying to fill all of them is a hassle I don't really tackle. Trial roulettes each day on the 50s are also "fun". Had to catch them up on Hildebrand for 2.4.

Working on a 5th 50; I got the 4th one up during late 2.1 and early 2.2 so I got to "feel" what the game is like for a fresh player trying to get geared up. Planning on doing the same for late 2.4 when stuff winds down. It's pathetically easy if you know what you're doing, which is what I suppose is most peoples' problem.

I believe you have to reload the launcher for the update to start.

Every major game so far needed to update the launcher also, so whenever that occurs, odds are the game update is live as well.
