I'm sure it will be a good watch and I'll see it regardless but watching that Train Fight trailer, I felt there was no tension and worry that's how some of the action scenes might be. This is a hero who can literally fly through space and shoot lasers. Falling off a train doesn't seem to risky lol.
I feel like it's kinda like in DBS where Goku needed a suit to be in a volcano for the element to help trucks to they were fighting in lava. She maybe more powered up in the space scene. Who knows.
Lmao @ 'the fight.'
It'll be like a Superman movie, how he's OP but they'll still have to work to create tension. I see so many Mary Sue comments online as if they all forgot how powerful cosmic characters have been a thing for decades.

They've apparently forgotten what a Mary Sue is as well or have just never read a single comic book featuring Carol Danvers since 1975.
I think that at first glance, the reason she seems so OP to me is that she's the first real MCU hero to just fire off blasts of energy willy nilly. Thor has his lightening and has really grown into the use of it as the series progresses, Scarlet Witch has 'magic' or whatever but its not shown off in the same way as Cap. Marvel. Other heroes like Iron Man feel more grounded (to me anyway) because its use comes from a made object.
Every time I've seen a promo for the movie that aspect always conflicts with the desire of believe-ability. The verdict is out till I see the movie, but I feel it's going to clash a lot based off what I've seen.
We said this about putting Norse Gods in the (until then) more grounded in reality MCU.
We said it about The raccoon and his tree best friend flying around in space.
We said it about Doctor Strange throwing technology away and using actual magic for the first time in the MCU.
Idk. Captain Marvel definitely isnt the same as what we've gotten so far. But Marvel has been knocking it out of the park and has definitely earned my trust when they wanna try smething a little different.
Yah, anyone calling her a Mary Sue has no idea what that term is or where it came from. This is just not a case of that...
Yeah we can believe actual fucking magic but not power beams?
The type of powers isn't my issue. Her using beam attacks and going SSJ I have no problem with. It's just the scale of power that we see that worries me. Now, let me say again I am planning on seeing this film and excited for it. Just once you show a hero with the power of a star there has to be a good reason they just don't fly in and end any fight instantly. Now that said Vision was very similar and worked so you never know.
Yeah Vision is supposed to be pretty OP. Couldn't so much in Civil War. Granted, a single energy blast from him took down War Machine.... Corvus' spear cheap shot fucked his shit up so he was messed up during IW.
I guess that's proof enough right there that Marvel can write around an OP character.
I think Carol will do more. Endgame is a month away from her movie, and I kinda feel like Marvel needs to show people she can take on Thanos but still have some suspense with the Skrulls.
