Lol superhero movies are too unrealistic!
Lol superhero movies are too unrealistic!
Not to mention a family member of mine took down a 240lbs dude that tried to fight because his life literally depended on it and she whooped that ass. She's 130lbs. Highly skilled and trained, but still a 1v1 under the worst of circumstances.
Also, freaking laser beams.

If people are watching fictional movies and taking anything they see on screen as applicable to real life... well...
Saw the movie. For the first female led mcu movie its not great. And when comparing it to the other big female led superhero movie(Wonder woman) it's not good. To me nothing stood out, but at the same time there was nothing blatantly bad about it. For me it was 6 out 10. I won’t remember it in a week.
I loved Ant-Man 1 and 2 so that would be great for me lol
Same. I'm blacking out all reviews until I watch this. The "feminism rage" over this is just hilarious.
Brie Larson did one of those Google Auto complete interviews on YouTube and it has almost as many dislikes as likes at close to 25k. People really don't like her anymore.
Regardless I'm still looking forward to this and will probably see it Tuesday for $5 Tuesdays.
Guess I'm a minority and thinks Brie was a bad choice forbthe role.
Here's what I don't get about that argument.
Brie is a great actress. What more does she need for the role? Is a model like Gal Gadot preferred? Or are her boobs not big enough for comic standards?
I don't get it.
I think it's more to do with stuff she said in the past. Like how for one movie she was in (I think Wrinkle In Time?) Zsje said she doesn't hate white men, but didn't need "a 49 year old dude" to tell her what didn't work because the movie "wasn't made for them" or something around those lines.
Granted people blew it up out of proportion but I'm just sick of hearing about gender/identity politics from both sides and wish people would leave that shit out of movies/games/etc.
Her stoic face and decent rack are fine for the role. Honestly, what's the worst that could happen here. Marvel makes $500 mil instead of $800 mil?

As an actress I can't say. I haven't seen enough with her to leave a clear impression. I think it's just she has a very confrontational personality herself. Even in the Auto complete interview you can see she seems almost offended or upset at some of the questions like when one was "Brie Larson workout?" Her response was to ask if that was a challenge. When combined with earlier comments posted above she pissed a lot of people off.
Does it make her unfit for the role? No. It's not based off her appearance or gender as there is plenty of beloved female actresses. It's nothing logical just a lot of people taken back by her personality and are very vocal about it.
Personally when I first heard her casting I was fine and didn't really have an opinion. When she released a picture of her reading the comics in a Captain Marvel onesie I was excited as she seemed to be taking the role seriously. The trailers left much to be desired but other scenes shown seem to at least promise a fun action movie and based on early reviews seems to be what we'll get.
Am i the only one that seems to just ignore everything actors/actresses do when they aren't acting? I would have never known about any of this stuff lol.
I've just never really cared about interviews or anything they do outside of their movies.
Meanwhile Chris Evans takes progressive stands and people are fawning all over him.
