The 500+ dummy DPS guy said he did Crit > Det > SS but we don't know his specific gear set at the moment. It might just be an issue of when he made the video the ACT wasn't parsing NIN DoTs properly which is why it gave him such high numbers but at this point I don't know. From what I understand he made those videos pretty much the day after NIN was released so I'm not sure if ACT was updated at the time.

I would think that also if I hadn't heard from people in recent confirming they are hitting the 500 threshold. I am using a HA weapon, ilvl110, and gear is set to Crit > Det > SS and using the exact rotation Firlana used in the video with no slow down or error. I know some have melded gear, but I shouldn't be falling back to 470-475. This is also in party with DEX buff and using food. ACT itself might just not be picking it up right either, which is why I am wondering even after the latest update if there are settings you have to do to detect everything on NIN.

Resubbed lastnight to mess with NIN, does it bug the fuck outta anyone else that you can't weave WS between mudras? This class is damn fun but it bugs the shit outta me wasting GCD time casting them when there's some latency. Even with NINs ridic damage it's driving my inner tryhard bonkers.

About as viable as any chance to use Shadow Flare is. As long as you have someone willing to hold the mobs stationary for the duration Doton is significantly stronger than Katon.

Back to Ninjutsu, how viable is Doton? I can't remember if I asked but isn't Katon generally better as an AoE?

Doton is 240 pot, Katon is 180. Doton relies on stuff lasting the full duration tho (or at least most of it).

If Kassatsu is up, Katon > Kassatsu > Doton. Doton currently crits every tick w/Kass, making it effectively 360 pot (crit Katon would be 270). Probably a bug though. (Edit: also crit on every target seems unintentional because Life Surge on DRG doesn't do that)

If stuff is going to melt in like 2 seconds, Katon or just keep using Raiton/Suiton/Huton on boss.

It didn't crit 100% of the time, but it had an abnormally high crit rate (I did some measurements myself and found it to be ~60%).

Doton only gets a 100% crit rate with Kassetsu, which forces a crit on your next ninjutsu, so it's not really the same thing and it's not really a bug either. Considering the limited usefulness of Doton, the recast time on Kassetsu, and NIN's general lack of AoE damage abilities I don't think it's all that "broken" either. They may still change it tho, but on the list of nerf-worthy things on NIN I'd say it's a pretty low priority.

I spent about 40 leve's doing the Mega-Potion of Vitality ALC leve in Ul'dah and only got 1 Bloody Grimoire

All of the level 50 leves can give it, the trick to being most efficient about it is to accept only 1 leve in either Ul'dah or Saint Coinache, complete it, then recheck the leves in both locations for rewards before accepting and completing another. The rewards update each time you complete a leve, so only accepting 1 at a time and checking both locations gives you the most chances for it to popup per leve.

That said the things are pretty cheap at this point, last I checked there were at least half a dozen stacks of 99 for sale on my server from what I can only assume are those RMT BLM crews spamming WP (who have no idea what it's actually for and that no one needs 99 of the goddamn things).

We do, he posted the vid to guildwork when he posted it and said this about his gearset:

Full HA left side except gloam chest, HA weapon too. right side is sold neck ears and bracelet, HA ring and Ramuh ring.

Edit: as for the leve for bloody knife blades it was mega-potion of strength @ saint coineach. By "level 50 leves" I'm sure you mean 45 since that's the highest. iirc lvl 40 leves could give the weapon parts too but I may be just thinking of dodore wings and uraeus skins.

that guy's set is not ideal for raid situation tho. he still misses in coil turn 11 the same day he did the video

so he might have more crit/det than usual

im consistently doing 485~498 atm with 110 weapon. so 500-520 is not too hard to believe

being said, those numbers will go down in dungeon/instances because of delay. not sure if that is ninja fixed this maint, because i noticed lesser delay today.

i'm noticing more today sitting in town and not even inside an instance. maybe certain zones also just suck? i know north than was significantly worse for me even before i hit 45. i could hit two steps without pushing globals back if i was super fast, but when i went into north than it was pretty much impossible.

So I haven't really seen anyone talking about it, I guess because it's largely irrelevant considering the new i130 gear, but it seems like a lot of the new i110 PVP gear for NIN has some kick ass stats on it. I'm assuming the stats on PVP gear aside from Morale apply to PVE as well correct? So if I wanted to get a set of i110 weapons/gear without worrying about RNG from ST or running around doing Hunts I could just grind out Frontlines for a while and buy those right?

The weapon is already melded so yeah laugh at me for capping ACC on it and because of that 520 is pretty high but I cant seem to find a way to lower it to around 510 while keeping a good amount of crit/det

Also I cannot put I120-130 gear (exept shiva) cuz I dont think i'll get nin coil gear soon

yes but unless you're already 40 it's gonna take a gigantic time commitment to hit 45.

You can't change your base stats. You only get the "awarded attribute points" back.

OKay rotation question. What is the best way to keep DE/SF up? Since they run on somewhat short timers I've been having trouble keeping them up when I try to AE combo
