You do if u get selene. Doing flawless rotation will run your tp out. Also since i cant be bothered to install tp monitor. I just set an alarm whenever my group's mnk uses invig, ill goad him shortly after the alarm.

Also, I run out of tp on dummy at around 6 min.

Video i just took showing how long NIN can last on dummy... just 5+ min but im sure thats still longer than other DPS

can prolly last longer in raid due to phase transition/gimmicks/mudras delay w/o paeon

T10 is pretty much nonstop dps for 10-11 mintes - can multidot on adds which further strain TP. BRD needs to paeon for himself usually here.
T11 has very little downtime - transitions between add phases and that's about it, not sure if BRD can maintain TP without paeon (melee definately can't).
Yeah I have to paeon multiple times on brd in t10 for myself, and in t11 as brd I need to paeon the last five-eight percent or so before adds spawn. I actually had to start waiting for dots to wear off before reapplying them as opposed to reapplying them at 0-3s because I needed more tp.

So, does anyone have a clue how ACT is, currently, especially with regards to NIN?

Doing T11, the MNK is sitting around 490-510, I'm at 450-470, but we're almost exactly even on the enmity bar, swapping back and forth with each other.

Assassinate? I've always attached x%HP CDs to my regular rotation steps. Is there a reason not to do that?

    Serious question. I rarely DPS

The main problem is that you can't queue macros so just by combining the two (Assassinate into an on-GCD step) you are losing DPS due to latency, whatever your latency may be. Having a 20ms loss (or whatever, that's quite an optimistic figure for this game too) attached to each of your on-GCD abilities that you have something macro'd with results in a sizeable DPS loss over time.

EDIT: To elaborate, using macros on Bard for instance is always a DPS loss but not on the same scale as Ninja, since Bloodletter/Misery's End are used far more often than Assassinate while Heavy Shot/Straight Shot (if you macro to that too for whatever reason) are not all that powerful.

Assassinate on the other hand is rather mediocre as a DPS ability since it has a lengthy cooldown, while a lot of Ninja's DPS comes from their on-GCD combos - so you'll be greatly weakening a huge part of your dps for the sake of a very mediocre DPS ability~

i put all my buffs into one macro and i stick assassinate in there. definitely don't put them into your normal global rotation buttons.

first time i play melee too :D thanks for the macro's to-do and not-to-do

also great advice on sticking it into buff macro!

no more fucking random assassinate when some AOE shit is about to happen

i throw both mug and assassinate into buff macro now

fyi: all of the <me>s and <t>s are unnecessary (as well as the capitalization)

Same, was nice to find out they actually made the syntax a little more intuitive.

Only reason to add a <whatever> is if you want the skill to behave in a more specific way (<f> <2-8>, etc).

    Kinda newish to NIN 50.

I was such a dummy and bought a Gloam Ring for NIN without even thinking about it because they use the Gloam gearset... but they need to wear Auroral accessories for the DEX.

Gah, so irritating! But on the bright side, NIN's pretty fun to play!

Seems like kind of a stupid thing to do since it prohibits you from using (or not using) a specific ability at a specific time.

I agree - not my cup of tea but you can have both this macro and the separate skills available if you needed to use anything specific.

that macro is way too long lol

also silence/stun has to be standalone imo.....

my nin is only putting in internal release, mug, assasinate and blood for blood(last line of the 4),

I agree, I might condense my buff macros for jobs I don't really care about, but I would never put off-GCD abilities like Steel Peak or Howling Fist on a general macro. I certainly wouldn't put anything with animation lock (Jump/Assassinate) on a macro like that. Shit needs to be used intentionally.

If the goal is to save space (which I assume is the point of the macro) then having both seems like a waste.

Was curious so tested: Fuma Shuriken is physical/slashing (-ton Jutsu is all magic, as most know by now). Might make it useful in niche situations where magic damage (Raiton) is severely reduced, idk.

Situations like the adds in T11 and..............um....................T2? (sometimes)

I wish they had made Nintjutsu's recast timer be dependent on the ability used, they could have kept Fuma Shuriken useful in some way if it had a lesser recast than Raiton (and would make Raiton more appropriate for stuff like Kussetsu or when Foe's was on the mob).

The Fuma animation is just so cool looking, Raiton you just strike a stupid pose, got no "umph" to it.
