Speaking of Kassatsu and latency woes, I've been having increasingly high occurences of it resetting the mudras (when it's not the occasional "Mudras Reset! Wait. Nope, they're not reset anymore."), but failing to apply the guaranteed crit to the next Ninjutsu. Instead, I'll just keep the buff (which is now useless) until it times out. I don't even know how that's possible, probably packet loss.

Is Dancing Edge not a flank skill? It does not say in the picture text on the ability like some pages say it is.

Dancing Edge is not a flank skill. There was a localization mistake when Ninja was released and the English tooltip erroneously stated it was--the offending tooltip has since been fixed.

So, I'm back for about a month to try Rogue/Ninja, and see how much of the storyline I can get through before the sub runs out.

How badly will I be hurting myself/my party if I just skip Lancer? Blood for Blood looks great and all, but I'm not terribly keen to level it to 34 from scratch.

you lose invig too no? if you don't plan to lvl nin to 50, or rather stop playing nin after 50, then I guess it's ok, but other than that you're pretty fucked if u try to do anything else.

Mostly looking to advance through the story, including whatever dungeons and such go along with that. I don't want to be a drain on whatever groups I'm in for it.

I'm looking to hit 50, but I'm definitely not going to be pushing current-tier (or even recent-tier) anything.

I've got an ilv61 PLD with all the appropriate skills, but I'm not terribly interested trying to become competent at tanking again for the short period I'll be back, and Ninja just seems more interesting.

Also, is there any sort of guide either here or on another site that has solid information on the job, or should I just slog through the previous 20 pages that I haven't read to glean what I can there?

Just leveling the class should teach you all you need to know really. If you're not concerned about being as good as you can be ignoring Blood for Blood isn't that big a deal, losing Invigorate kinda sucks though if you don't have LNC at 22 or whatever it is. You don't really need Invigorate for any of the story content though (fights either aren't long enough in dungeons to run out of TP or have downtime in things like the earlier story primals where natural TP recovery has you covered), but it'll hurt when it comes to AoEing in dungeon pulls and stuff at the very least.

I recorded a couple 1-cycle ninjutsu rotations (huton > suiton > TA > Kassatsu > raiton > raiton > huton) with and without WTFast to see the difference. 30 fps recording counting the wasted GCD frames (the frames between when my GCD comes off cooldown until it gets used). In Vegas, the connection path it took for me was Chicago > Toronto. 73 ms ping with, 89 without.

Suiton: 44 vs 49 (5)
Kassatsu Raiton: 21 vs 36 (15)
Raiton: 18 vs 27 (9)
Huton: 46 vs 61 (15)
Huton falloff time: 49 vs 97 (48)

So I was ~48 frames (~1.6 seconds) ahead at the 70 second mark, or a 2.28% increase. +41 frames per minute, or about 2 extra GCDs every 3 minutes.

what's the priority for left side poetics upgrades? i'm working with vajras/yoshimitsu animus(finishing alex tomorrow), left side all wod except for legs which may or may not drop this week, right side all aug ironworks except for 2nd ring. i'm on t9 up to divebombs. plan to finish out relic so hesitant to save for encrypted tomestone weapon.

Ironworks body is definitely better than Dreadwyrm.

Not sure how the crafted i110 stuff stacks up, and my only Zeta is SCH... but I probably wouldn't bother with either right now (unless you want Zeta for glamours) with expansion so close. Everything's gonna be replaced by level 55 anyway.

Your choices for Body/Hands/Belt/Feet for a no-acc build are certainly... interesting. Do you have some kind of raging boner for DET?

Honestly somewhat, but I do see what you mean. I guess I should have just said non-coil instead of non-issue, because that set has stuff like Primals in mind. My bad.
