Might start playing again, current character is on Behemoth.

    62 Drag, 60 Sam, 50 Rdm, 50 Whm, 34 War, 33 Nin, 32 Bard, 22 Glad.

What am I going to have the most fun playing and to keep interest? Specifically solo/pugs as an "rpg" since I don't know if any of my friends are going to pick it back up. Also, do any of you play on Behemoth or should I move lol.

I play games typically twice a week from ~10pm EST until about 1-2am EST. Also randomly during mornings/afternoons while watching my toddler run around. Basically I don't play a ton and sometimes when I play I'm not all there.

Assuming if higher level classes stick to MSQ, if not one of those palace or whatever till I can do MSQ?

That is incredibly subjective, but WHM is a fun multipurpose beast, doing roulettes will level you superfast anyway, and with the suggested playtimes, roulettes + msq will keep you busy for a long time

Roulettes can get you a level/day easy. But like Hellfury said it's subjective.

DPS queue times are pretty bad so that might be a damper on wanting to play them.

But won't MSQ be slightly more annoying or slower as WHM?

I really don't mind healing, would it overtake my 62 dragoon quickly?

I’ve leveled everything to 80, DPS ques aren’t THAT bad. You can always do other stuff while waiting like beast tribes, gold saucer, FATEs. If all else fails run dungeons with your NPC squad.

I am on a temporary summoner hiatus in favor of WHM while waiting for Endwalker. WHM roulette queues are almost always instant on Aether at least.

And healer now isn't just healing at least not whm/sch, I spend more time DPSing than healing. You throw up some regens, the required buffs, put up barrier when a tankbuster is on the way, once you get afflatus etc. that makes you actively heal even less. You punch out enough damage to make stuff go pretty fast, and you can keep yourself going through 99.9% of mistakes, so it is pretty smooth.

Healer and DPS ques will be a bit more frustrating with Endwalker launch as so many run out to play Sage and Reaper but I don’t think it will be *that* bad.

Healer probably requires the least knowledge of stuff right?

For leveling dungeons sure, for raids and trials healers need to know pretty much all the mechanics though. You need to know the tank specific mechanics so you can keep them alive (naturally) and there will also be things that only affect healers you need to be aware of. And you need to be able to rescue a clueless dps from standing in the bad.

Yeah I figured that was the case for raids and end game stuff I meant prior to.

I should have just made a general what is the most fun class lol I guess that is what I'm asking when you think about it.

If white mage is up there that sounds good to me, same with dragoon or samurai. It would be nice having faster queues for my loade limited play time though.

I remember I started working on ninja last time I was playing cuz that was supposedly fun / high need or something.

You just have to try to figure it out, it is so incredibly subjective.
The good thing about XIV, even more so than before, it will never be completely wrong which job you choose.
(I don't know Savage/Ultimates, filthy casual and all that, but for everything else, you should be ok)

And well, you're not stuck with it anyway, don't like it? pick another one.

I'd suggest Ishgard turn-ins for going 70-80 on crafts, myself. It may not be as fast or easy as buying leve turn-ins, but as noted, you'll build up some scrips if collectibles are your thing. Should also be enough rotation guides floating around for one-button macros and minimum gear/food reqs to make it something to do when you just wanna be productive while doing something else. Diadem mats should also probably be on the cheap side by now, but sometimes there are outside craftables you may want to make/gather on your own to save some gil. Forget my exact numbers, but I think getting max-tier turn-ins and EXP from making them will take you to 80 in about 150 crafts. Don't quote me on that, though, since it's been nearly a year for me.

MSQ will take 1-2 jobs of yours to 80 just from MSQ EXP alone.

WHM is very fun, even if it's very simple.
DRG is my main since 2013, and it's my favorite class by far. It feels very good to play, is pretty simple as well.
SAM is fun, but I'm not a big fan. If you're not a good SAM, you're not offering anything to the party. They have no utility.
NIN is fun and pretty simple. They do have a complicated burst window, but outside of that, is pretty braindead on execution.
WAR is great. Has a lot of self sustain, which a lot of healers like, as it allows them to DPS more.
PLD feels great to play, has utility for the party. Great for soloing/low manning old content. The only thing I don't like is that their rotation is 63 seconds long and feels kind of awkward because of that.

I'd recommend going DPS for the story, as they're longer to level up. Save the dungeon grinds for healer/tank as a secondary class.

Thanks for all the advice. Maybe I'll finish out drg and/or whm first to get back into it and go from there.

Is it smartest to dungeon/roulette grind my WHM to cap and save MSQ for dps?
