SO GLAD THESE LUCIS ARE ALL DONE![]()
You crazy. A fc mate has all 11 also ... I stopped at 4 lol
I wanted to go a bit slowly but didn't know the timing would be so perfect lol. I got my 220th moonstone from Ixali last week or so. :D
I have ten, but I said fuck fishing.
Fisher was my last gathering one. The clams took foreeeevvveeer. Most hauls came out empty or with 5 NQs.
I finished my Lucis rod last night. I had one double hq window and two or three no HQ websites but usually I pulled up one hq per and 1-5 nq.
This is NOT A KNOCK at people with all type of Lucis in this thread, but I do have a serious question: did producing them cost you gil, or gain you gil? Overall.
From my experience, the people I know with Lucis have mostly spent far more on them than they could hope to gain, but most of the people I play with don't actively craft enough (even the ones with full DoH Lucis sets).
I can't really think of anything that costs that much gil when it comes to Lucis, so I'm a bit confused by your question. I have 11/11 as well and I can't really think of any time where I spent a lot of gil on them.
Lucis aren't absolutely needed for anything either, they just make certain items a little easier to craft. So it's hard to really say they make much gil since somebody could do just about the same with a supra. I did it just because it was something to do and I enjoy completion with that sort of thing.
The luci is dirt cheap to make, it's the supra that costs money and the RNG for the master II books
I crafted the tools early, and farmed up most the mats. Probably spent about 2-3 mil total, I crafted a ton of alchemy crap to turn in to the GC for the moonstone to turn in.
The money I made from being able to 100% HQ the item for the relic stage after getting lucis is into the hundreds of millions. Overall for the many hours of effort making lucis, I think it was worth it at the time.
Just remember, the faster you get those tools made, the more you make. The longer you wait the less possible you can make as you have to fight just that many more people to overprice your stuff.
Expect the guy with a decent amount of lv60 crafters/gathering and the af to go with it (or whateveres best) to make tons of gil.
Still isn't that expensive. 300k for the Supra mastercrafts, Another 100k for FC3s for Book2 unless your shit really sucks, and then another 100k in crystals/mats if you're lazy, for the Lucius.
Zodiac stuff on my server still hovers around 100k gil, which is steady profit if you desynth, able to craft for 15min and make all that gil back going from Artisan -> Lucius main hands. Saves more gil if you make your own mastercraft demis, but that takes more time for me + desynth RNG vs. just churning out zodiac items for guaranteed gil.
You guys are missing the point.. Gulk and I get them done asap so when end of the patch comes, people still doing it and we can point and laugh with all our gil and cat ladies![]()
Isn't that when supplies for the mats are most in demand, thus low quantity and their highest prices?
Again I wasn't trying to attack anyone for getting Lucis in any way, I was just curious if people felt they got their gil's worth beyond just having it for collectables/future crafting. Personally, I have probably spent more on gearing up my crafters than I've made and I know I'm not even close to the only one, but that's my fault for not making the most of it.
I beat FFXIV! (T13) PreHW
