Made my first 2-star off hand tool (HQ).
Shit takes way too long to gather materials for.
Managed to run both Sircus Tower and World of Darkness in one day yesterday to finish my first run of the CT weekly. They really have to change the rewards for that quest to just give you everything in the optional section given how fast the Ironworks set is replaced. Even if it's augmented.
I recently started playing this game around before the release date of Heavensward, started Paladin and by the time I hit 50 the expansion was out. I was all caught up on the storyline and decided to try out DRK, and ended up loving it a lot more than PLD so I leveled it to 60 first. It did slow me down progress wise, but it was well worth it.
Just got access and finished my first 4 turns of Alex today and walked out with a 2 bolts to get an earring and necklace, a lens and a shaft for the body piece. I heard a lot of things about turns 3 and 4 being a bitch but most trouble I had was actually the 2nd because the other AST was BARELY doing anything, my other buddy on AST almost actually healed through the entire thing alone, but during the last phase of the fight it became too much and we finaly wipe. The shitty astrologer realizes they can't handle it, and says "HO MIN", dropped a couple of seconds later. The rest were done first or second try, thankfully. Considering it was from DF. I am not claiming to be "good" or anything, but I do love playing this class and tanking anything and everything.
Needless to say, it's been a fast few months and I am very happy with everything in FFXIV. I remember 5 years ago playing the original beta and I fell asleep at my keyboard and could not play the game because this happend every time. Now I can't stop playing. Haven't had a real taste of end game though. The most advanced I guess would be the Extreme primals. But nothing like Savage modes, going to do the first few Savage modes for Alex this weekend. Progress wise so far I have gotten all i170 pieces, upgraded my body armor and ring only. Capped on Esos, should have Deathbringer the next time it resets.
Sorry for the very long story, but just hoping progress wise I am going in the right direction with the currency and I am even able to do Savage with my current gear setup.
For the record, I still want to finish Paladin but from what I am reading here about Paladins at this point DRK would be more useful to me.
Edit: Damn, should have posted this in the new player thread below or the DRK knight, not sure what this fights in, it's a little of all 3. lol. Sorry for the wall of text all.
Always take Spring from a3 and Shaft from a4. otherwise, grats!
All three gatherers hit 60 last night.![]()
I love these reset days. Today was a damn productive day. I got my antiquated deathbringer, prototype gordian belt, ring, gauntlets, and so far I am 1/2 on the helmet and feet. Today's runs all were first try.. except turn 4, that group was a fucking disaster. Nobody wanted to take dolls, I ended up picking one up because it was raping the healer, and eveyrone died so fast, not even close to killing the boss. We vote to dismiss, next group I enter, we were in and out in less than 10 minutes I think, it was like night and day. Guess you have those unlucky russian roulettes.
I took a some of screenshots randomly, spoilered for huge.
Spoiler: show
You wanna do it all for me? Can't stand the dungeon fate spam. I want it to be a simpler time of raiding/crafting again.
Damn, you're botanist is probably more reliable and has better gear than some of tards on DF.
Nice. Found it hilarious how I can't stand leveling crafting/gathering compared to my DoWs/DoMs.
Not being well geared before expansion hurts.
Dungeons feel slow.. but fates are slowing way down a (last 2 jobs were a epic struggle) also now, so going either route is going to be painful >.>
Crafts/gathering were super easy, especially if you had the good gear already from 2.X (thank you lucis)
You mean, R.I.P. Lucis* :c
If you don't have epic 2.x gear, gathering collectables for scrips are a massive struggle unless you have HQ level 55 gear. Crafting not so much, but you really benefit having all cross class skills, which I didn't (No Ingenuity II or Comfort Zone).
Does that apply to FSH also? It's my only gathering job at the moment and I have no idea what to work on for gear.
For fisher, I'd say food + survival manual + GC turn-in + leve turn-ins is the way to go.
You get so much XP from fishing that the levels really fly by. I didn't worry about collectables until 60, honestly.
You tell em', Resin.
lol, "Mogtimus Prime". Love it.
I did collectibles on my FSH. With about 8-10? hours or so of fishing, with no rested exp, no exp papers, no leve's Lv 50-> 60. Fastest leveling ever (all using 2.X's lucis/crafted melded gathering gear)
Yeah, well, I'm not sure about Ragnus, but I was slumming it with vendor gathering gear. Not all of us are as privileged as you, Gulk! XD
