Took tank boots and probably won't use them for anything but glamour (and I guess PvP if I ever feel like playing WAR in it again, maybe once I'm grinding lights), I know better than to hunt for something specific because it'll only end in heartbreak.

I hunted for SMN body or SMN Legs for a while... not as many as some of you though. Eventually said f**k it and took a Tank body that dropped since I also have PLD and what the hell why not.

I've MTed syrus with zenith axe and full i80 gear just recently.
I've also MTed lota with AF gear and titan axe back in 2.1.

Went pony farming the other day. Took fucking forever and lost the roll so many times that the only reason I kept going was sheer, single-minded determination not to let the game "beat" me.

Suffice to say I will not be pony farming for quite some time now. It's just miserable when it's a revolving door of people leave -> new person joins -> new person wins -> repeat.

Probably too much DPS. The fight is broken if a good group goes full DPS because you push it to use Hellfire in the third nails before you can kill the nails. Got to hold back on Ifrit a bit at 20% and give them time to spawn otherwisetank DPS and DoTs wi ll end up pushing it.

If that's not why the group is wiping then it just sucks. I don't farm mounts unless I'm selling because the droprate still sucks too much to PUG it.

Edit: Oh you said HM, unless you meant EM since you were talking about ponies. I don't see how wiping to HM could even be possible.

To be fair, I'm trying to learn drg and I can see why people dont do CT combo on 3-packs. Like, its not good to not do it, and not doing heavy thrust is straight up wrong - but I can definitely see how they dont do it if the monster dies in 6-8 gcd.

The rotation reborn thread does give you numbers that prove what rotations are optimal on 3-packs in dungeons...but does the average drg visit internet forums to better their gameplay?

I haven't read that stuff for a while, but isn't it ok to use the CT combo on trash if you get even a couple of DoT ticks off? Might have to revisit it.

Yup, I meant HM. All healers + anyone who can cast raise ate all of Ifrit's charges and I triple-checked to make sure I didn't see the bonus message too.

My wife wanted to get some quick soldiery last night and had terrible luck. First she spent a good 45 mins to an hour in the new gilgamesh fight, people were dying to chains, eating AoEs, not enough HP to survive eating said AoEs. Then she gets titan, with 2 new tanks, tanks argue who is going to MT, she tells the one who finally decides to MT all he has to do is stand on the edge, not move, and dodge red stuff(AoE's.) So he proceeds to stand there, and falls off the edge when titan chips away at the perimeter, then complains he was told not to move. She had to vote abandon that one, then she gets into another titan with a scholar that has just barely over 3k hp and dies to stomps.

Quick soldiery took her almost 2 hours to get, such bad luck.

112 Big Fish is the only true endgame. So don't put too much pressure on yourself.

Chaos Thrust is very good -- even ignoring the DoT and piercing resist down portion, it's still a 600 Potency combo, only 80 potency short of Full Thrust combo. At 9 seconds of DoT uptime, Chaos Thrust beats Full Thrust by 10 Potency; even at 6 seconds it's very very close due to the Piercing weakness.

The downside to "In Need" bonuses always showing up as Tank is that even a good and overgeared tank can't make up for sufficiently bad healers. I've seen a lot of SCH walk right through multiple Charges without Lustrating themselves, and a frustrating number of WHM that can't handle the eruptions/plumes. Add in folk spamming stuns for damage, and there's a lotta ways for stupid to hurt. An <se.#> in party chat to get close to Ifrit before the worst plume phase post-nail helps... sometimes.

I'd accuse them of being bots, except bots could handle this better.

Gets particularly fun when you pull Chrysalis and the healers are confused by this "Focus Target" thing. Is it something you eat?

I mean, I think we've all gotten really good at tuning them out at this point but the sheer number of them has gotten pretty fucking absurd lately.

Slit your wrists now, then you won't ever need to "look forward to it" ever again.

No HA Coat still (lost a Need lot by 6 points), no useful Dreadwyrm Fending drops, repeat Dreadwyrm drops we don't want/need, not one pony drop, no 135 Zodiac for afew weeks yet. Can't even get a Shiva Axe for WAR or Grimoire for lolSMN (49 Diamond Dusts sitting here.. pls). Also not one Diamond Tear either.

We're long overdue for an online status that filters out /tells from non-friends/FC/LS members (and also the ability to block friend requests by default). Either that or some kind of blacklist purging function with a lock option for non-RMT you want to keep on there. Guildwork takes care of the majority of RMT, but still.

I don't know if being almost all the time in a housing zone has anything to do with it, but I've received less than 5 tells in the last 2-3 months (Ragnarok)
