My secondary job ninja has one piece of dreadwyrn cuz we have two ppl who actually play ninja in my static for different turns (don't ask...). I get third drop. I haven't met a huntard that was outparsed me yet despite me using a Novus weapon and most of them already having the 130 weapon.

There's gray area. Good gear could mean good player or bad player. Bad gear could mean secondary job or not enough time to hunt or inability to lot high in coil. Hard to make blanket statements except this one: Huntards are bad. And at this point that's probably defined as someone who hunts most of their time on the game, probably hasn't cleared passed T10 and is working on twines for the second and/or third job by now.

I find it hard to believe that people with that much dedication to The Hunt - aka they got the Guildworks App, maybe they have a SSD and zone in quickly, sought after active linkshells, and helps to pop S ranks (or pops them on their own) isn't also doing well in instanced content.

To be honest, the people that I see struggle the most in things like T5/T9 have zodiac weapons and full 120 poetics. As in, all their free time went toward getting a zodiac weapon and augmenting their BRD poetic body wasn't very high on the list of priorities lol

Edit: of course, I'm sure there are some casual hunters that have extreme luck with book drops and don't do well in instanced fights lol

This game offers different lvl of satisfaction. I'm happy when i'm doing endgame content and progress on it, some ppl prefer to craft, some other ppl actually like to hunt etc.
Depending on what anyone aim for I think they always can improve.

All no Dreadwyrm means is that you probably have no static. I'm a filthy casual who hasn't got a group to get past T9. I saved seals from earlier hunt activity so between that and a few S ranks I have 2 augmented pieces. Would I like to be doing Final Coil? Kinda. My circumstances make it impractical.

My rule of thumb is no dreadwyrm on their characters class they're instantly a scrub and automatically assumed they're shit at whatever they attempt to do.

I don't think it's a stretch to say
- Has Dreadwyrm: Assume good until proven otherwise
- No Dreadwyrm: Assume garbage until proven otherwise
and I don't even have any Dreadwyrm.
