People somehow getting worse at World of Dumbfuckery. My alliance wiped to every boss once except the five-headed dragon.
-Dunno what happened with eye, but at one point I got aggro and beamed the group
-DPS was slow on Cerberus to the point he actually SURVIVED his 2nd stomach wall break with people completely ignored adds
-People going tunnel vision on CoD when she got low instead of dealing with mechanics.
Thank god I got my piece that run.
haha WoD is getting worse by the week i think >.>
I can understand new people, but its more like people forgot how to play the game.. maybe not even playing, jsut auto attacking (I've seen many!)
I just run the place 1-2 times, greed whatever just so I have something for the week now, thank gd I got all I actually need!
This reminds me of WoW's LFR. I guess running WoD over and over is getting to the FFXIV playerbase too and now people do it with their brains turned off.
Provided they had turned it on at some point.
On the subject of randoms, Coil and Dreadwyrm gear, I healed T10 for the first time yesterday (usually DPS as NIN but healers are hard to come by these days on my server). Most DPS were wearing Dreadwyrm gear yet nobody was able to even break 400 DPS (BRD was actually highest at 380 and was providing soldiery bonus, which made the other DPS freak out).
Died to enrage with no deaths. So long for DW gear to be the mark of a decent player I guess.
I'll take my case as mnk. First time I took T10 down, I was ilvl 110 with nexus doing between 420 and 450 DPS. Since then i'm ilvl 125 with zodiac and no right side dreadwyrm and no boots no hands, i'm barely at 480 on this turn and T11.
Tested on dummy, I was consistently at 490-500 sustained at ilvl 110, i'm at 550-562 max sustained at ilvl 125. I don't know what is going wrong but thanks to shit RNG my det is extremely low
How much DPS you do in T10 (or any turn) is determined by how long the fight lasts. So it's not always down to the individual. If you're surrounded by bad players the fight will last longer and your average DPS over the whole fight will be lower. That's why those quick kill JP parses always have inflated DPS numbers.
As BLM I can keep my DPS over 600 for the first few minutes of the fight due to my initial 900+ burst but over a longer period that's going to settle to around 470-500. If my group's healers and tanks pushed out 300+ DPS each and got us a 4-5min kill I reckon I could push 550 DPS in T10 rather than the just under 500 I get now. Having a NIN would be nice too.![]()
And that's the entire point, FCOB as BRD does not require skill. 400 DPS by even a half decently geared BRD in FCOB (T10 as a baseline) is achievable by the upper threshold of an average player precisely because it doesn't require skill.
It really depends on your baseline definition of skill. If your definition of skill is better than the bang in the middle average player, then sure. For me I'm of the view than more than 50% of the player base is unskilled therefore being better than average does not make you skilled.
Yea I dunno about FCoB expected top tier DPS, but on my shitbox geared BRD(i110 or so, can't remember) in WoD, with a diamond bow, I can do 360 dps. So 400 dps on a BRD with better gear sounds like it's on the very bottom end.
Well let's put this into perspective.
People who were clearing this in 110 gear were doing 400-430 DPS on BRD (I checked the BRD thread). So there's your baseline, good players in 110 gear who were unfamiliar with the fight managed 400+ on week 1.
Well I had no Kirimu on our first clear and did 420 odd. I imagine the people using penta-melded Kirimu would have been way higher.
I did 401 dps on BRD week 1, full i110 gear+HA Bow+DRG+a death.
Spoiler: show
No way to tell who has Needed/Greeded an item. Gotta love when someone won't lot shit and holds up the group after a raid/dungeon clear and you don't know who needs the boot up their ass.
wod in progress at 5 headed dragon, arrive locked out and watch them wipe with maybe 15 actively fighting, and the usual arguing and name calling in chat. after first wipe different people continually run in and aggro boss and die, at least 10 times in a row. vote abandon goes out 6 times before it finally passes from the constant flux of people leaving and new people joining in progress over and over.
The triple triad cards in the SS's...
the numbers are too damn small.
Pretty sure like other HUD elements, you'll be able to increase the size.
... but this is Square we're talking about, so who knows? If you can't, then I'm predicting they'll let you do it in patch 3.3.
