Just wait until the flood of DRKs who do anything but tank.
Just wait until the flood of DRKs who do anything but tank.
There's already a flood of PLDs and WARs who don't tank.
Have you never been to ST/WoD?
I just hope for some kind of tanking QoL adjustments to make it a less irritating role to play (and not by way of DRK skills that won't benefit PLD/WAR -_-).
The best ones were the tanks so focused on their towers they couldn't bother with the Iron Giant/Behemoth murdering the raid.
Tanking after the enmity buffs have been almost too easy, the hardest part is not getting annoyed at the better geared OT stealing hate (and not falling asleep between mechanics).
There was an enmity buff? Seriously?
Lol.
They increased hate from Flash and added an enmity bonus to CoS a while back (couple patches at least), otherwise idk what he's referring to.
Didn't shield oath also got an enmity buff?
I believe there was mention of an adjustment to Oath and Defiance wayyyyy the hell back in 2.1 when all the WAR changes happened.
Other than that, no.
What you find irritating about tanking?
I mentioned enmity because it was usually the number one complaint. I felt it was just right after the 2.1 buff (it doubled enmity from 150% to 300% iirc).
The enmity bonus for Defiance is x2, I tested all of WAR's enmity mods myself.

As for what's irritating about tanking, a few things I can think of off-hand.
-No good long range skills
Lob/Hawk are awful: horrible enmity mods, massive TP drain, not enough range, interrupt combos.
Increase the mod from x3 to x6, increase the range from 15 to 20, maybe reduce the TP cost from 120 to 100 or increase the potency from 120 to 140. Not interrupting combos would be nice as well.
-Flash AoE needs to be bigger (being on par with Steel Cyclone would be nice)
-Mob behavior and the frequency with which their enmity is updated, drop a skull sunder on a newly spawned add, giving hate far more than the HoT tic that passed since it spawned, but because the tic happened first and the mob's target hasn't updated yet it goes and whacks your healer anyway. The way in which heals can begin to generate hate before a mob can be targeted is frustrating in itself.
On a related note, fix Halone and Block so the damage/enmity doesn't take until the end of the stupidly long animation to register (they fixed this for Overpower pretty early on, they can do it for other skills).
-Provoke needs to be more functional, it shouldn't require your co-tank to stop all action or allow really stupid shit like a Fracture tic to take hate back or a HoT tic making a mob turn right back around to a healer.
It either needs to also force the mob to target the user for a set amount of time (~5-10s) to allow proper hate establishment (was a PGL skill called Taunt that had this property in 1.0) or add a % bonus on top of the previous target's hate (ie. instead of highest hate +1, highest hate +10%), or hell, both.
A lower recast would be nice as well, would make the skill more useful in general instead of being relegated almost exclusively to tank swaps.
Yea that's another one I've thought of in the past, just make them work like MNK's stances.
Off GCD, shared 10s recast, no MP cost (being off GCD would mean no c-c-c-combo breaks as well).
Have lost MGP on Jumbo Cac 3 weeks in a row now .-.
Uh....idk how you think it works, but there's only a 1/10 chance that you'll get any matches at all since they have to be sequential.
So.....that's not at all unlucky or odd.
Most servers don't lose anything even for the consolation prize. Balmung is a piece of shit, though. Miniscule amount of MGP, but still.
If it makes you feel better Siren is the same.
Effect after animation still annoys me to this day. It only becomes glaringly painful as I level up other classes. I get immersion and all that jazz, but does it hurt to have instant abilities be instant? Or my rage of halone damage/grab the target before the year-long animation is over? Getting line-of-sight on that WS (or any WS) just to have it "reset" is just plain stupid. Having effect go off before animation would prevent that uncommon but still frustrating problem.
I remember when HG wasn't actually instant and took a whoppin 1s to actually activate or something. Its silly to have to gauge ahead of time when to use stuff like that, or benediction.

Decided to level ninja to have something to do, thought "mudra lag" couldn't be that bad.
Holy shit, it makes the job basically unplayable to me, I press the combination, sometimes it will go through, sometimes it wont, it fucks up 1/3~ of my mudras. I'll stick to monk, thank you.
