FFXIV Random Complaint Thread II: DPS can't count to potato

Had an entirely routine Keeper of the Lake on one of my alts for story completion. The tank and BLM are kind of bad but it's nothing so awful that I need to bring it up. Like an extra 5-10 minutes compared to "good".

Just before final boss, one of them says "this is taking too long lol". I can't resist and say "been thinking that the whole run". They start to bitch and tank pulls. About 30s in he says "watch this LOL" and starts d/c'ing. We wipe because healer didn't get in bubble (woulda been fine 3man honestly), and we vote kick the tank. The BLM starts complaining because they're siblings and he was just dicking around and "it wasn't intentional d/c his internet totally just blipped out for a second" which I won't believe for a second with that perfect timing. He proceeds to waste 10 more minutes arguing before he goes AFK and we kick him too.

I didn't consider a slow run a waste of my time until they literally decided to waste my time. I don't get how people who can't afford to no-life play all day (anymore) tolerate this. It's fucking awful. Could have done so much with that wasted 20 minutes.

Easy answer: never use DF, always have friends. ie. Don't be rata.

Really though it was fine up to the point where they decided to just do nothing. Slightly slow is ok with me.

How does acc work in this game? Never had an issue hitting anything with standard gear yet but I presume mob evasion ramps up later. Is there a hit rate cap in ffxiv like there was in XI(95%)?

Probably no one! Farm ponies, coil, anything else. Expert roulette is terrible. It' fastest cap but lacks that parallel progression this game desperately needs most times.

Each monster/encounter has a specific accuracy requirement. The accuracy requirements to hit a thing with magic/from behind/from the side/from the front differ.

The accuracy cap is 100%, but for most content the accuracy requirements are so low that you can basically ignore the stat. With the exception of coil, most of the time when making choices about what gear to use, the question is how to use the least amount of accuracy possible because it's so easy to hit 100%.

What do you do with 7 characters lol?

Specifically I have 4 of the 8 at 50. The other 4 are kid 20s because effort. A real main and alt, a joke (Incredulous Bulk), and a man cat because I was bored. Used to just do trial roulettes with them all. These 4 also all have full Ixal reputation. Used some for friend coil fill ins also but not since 2nd coil.

Aside from that, all 8 chars have level 50 fisher and culinarian from spamming pure profit leves at quarrymill for a couple months. I used them to fish 8 maps a day and sell the ones on the non 50s. Also desynth fish for shards. One alt has max leather desynth and another close to max CUL desynth.

Nowadays I don't do any of that cause no time and no drive. Getting the 50s up to story for the hell of it because all I have left to do on main is Lucis and lights and mahatma and make money.

T1 carbonized is so overpriced and an annoyance to farm that I'd rather use T2 or T3 anyways.

I just have my retainer get me up to 99 G3 to use for 1/2/3 if I get low. ;D Then I have a small stack of G4 if I ever need it.

Yea there's really no reason to ever have G1/2 carbs, just use 3s and save the inventory space.

I actually enjoyed Steps of Faith. Yeah I'm weird like that.

I could go for the rest of the game to use whatever colour correction they used in the Steps of Faith.

It doesn't have that grey wash over everything as if the saturation levels were fucked.

This can be said for pretty much everything. Sadly most of DF seems clueless and beyond help since they'd rather rage quit or refuse to discuss strategy

Have an i120 PLD. Don't even meet the ACC requirement for T5.

ACC is such a stupid stat in this game if it isn't going to be on every piece of gear.

I levelled an alt as WAR and geared it in crafted i90s when those were the highest to craft and he'd miss in praetorium.
